Aragorn - Lord of the Rings. Is there anyone more noble or worthy than Aragorn. I personally don't think so. I hope Cleveland are honoured by the comparison, but it is also well deserved. They are on a rampage to start the season and are there recent record is twelve and zero. It seems the heir to the throne of Gondor has rightfully taken his place to lead the company of men into a new age. |

Neo - The Matrix. This was actually a coincidence, but this is perfectly fitting that Washington get the chosen one, Neo or Mr. Anderson as Agent Smith calls him. This is because they have their own chosen one on their roster in Lebron James (google his back tattoo if you dont believe me). Neo along with the help of his comrades took the fight to the machine world and lead his people from hiding in the depths. It seems the wizards are starting to believe in the words of Morphius and in the prophecy that has been laid out before them. Lets see if they can continue on this path to defeating the machine world or perhaps a NSL championship. |

Optimus Prime - Transformers. Although not from this world, no one would question the leadership and morals of the fearless leader of the Autobots. Countless times Optimus makes the selfless decisions to risk his own life for the protection of a planet he is deemed an alien on. His fellow Autobots from around the galaxy would follow him into any battle, and i think there might even be some respect deep down in his arch nemesis Megatron. The Thunder are putting together an impressive start to the season and lets hope they can keep it up and not fall off like the recent Transformer movies. Yes, Mark Wahlberg has some great movies, but also some trash, once he was cast in one of them I knew it was going downhill. |

Jon Snow - The Game of Thrones. Similarly to Aragorn, Jon didn't want to be a leader and although he was unaware at the time, hid from his birthright to the throne. No matter where or what Jon was doing he was a leader. He almost immediately rose to the top of the Nights Watch at Castle Black and when captured by the Wildlings, he also gained their trust and had them following him in no time. He was named the King Beyond the Wall after he left the watch and almost all that came before him in his quests began to believe in him. Even his lover and queen could not control her jealousy of his natural leadership and claims. Maybe that is fitting for Houston's leader in Nikola Jokic, who often seems to not even enjoy basketball, but regardless has risen to a leader of the league. |

Harry Potter - Harry Potter. 'The boy who lived', whether you are a fan of the wizarding world or not, some respect must be given to young Harry. A baby who survived the ultimate evil was raised by tragedy and later triumphed. Similar to other listed here, Harry had no desire to be anyone special or lead people to a better world, but often those with the gifts to do this don't have that choice. Harry defeated the greatest evil the wizarding world has ever seen, in he who shall not be named, and did so mainly with spirit and bravery. The Wolves are off to a great start with AD as Harry, Butler as Hermoine and JV as Ron. |

Walter White/Heisenberg - Breaking Bad. Who said all the great characters had to be good? Walter, whose initial intentions in supporting his family after he was gone, were indeed good. However, those intentions quickly changed when the money and power starting rolling in. There, Heisenberg, a drug lord was born. Breaking bad regarded as one of the best TV shows ever, would not have that reputation without an incredible lead character, which they have. Utah are still doing well even without their best player for most of the season. If Embiid is Walter White. Then who is Jesse Pinkman? Harden? Murray? Wagner? |

Husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.” - Gladiator. Sorry but i had to put that full speach in there. Gives me goosebumps when you see it. What an epic movie and character. Leader of the Roman armies and such a good guy, that the Emperor of Rome, Marcus Aurelius, liked him better than his own son. Maximus who was initially fuelled by duty and loyalty, following tragedy was fuelled by hate and revenge. Which is more powerful? He led successful armies with one and was a force on his own in the coliseum with the other. Regardless what his motivation was greatness was achieved. Charlotte are hoping for greatness, led by their own gladiators in KAT and Ja Morant. |

Geralt of Rivia - The Witcher. I was a big fan of Geralt long before the TV show, as I had spent countless hours being him in the video game. I hope all would agree with me that the show did not disappoint. Geralt, who is a Witcher, whose purpose is basically a monster hunter is much more than that. He becomes attached to a princess who is destined for much more than that and it becomes his soul purpose to protect her. Boston are disappointed with the recent performances but are trying to mix up one of the Witcher potions which will hopefully give them the boost they need. I will add that I am not happy Henry Cavill will not be playing Geralt anymore. Apparently, Liam Hemsworth will be, which will not the same. |

Indiana Jones - Indiana Jones. The resume on Indiana Jones is quite impressive. Has seen the holy grail, fought Nazi's and recovered the ark of the covenant, located aliens and their UFO and much more. He obviously had an eye for adventure and the talent for it, but his moral compass always pointed true north when it came to the ancient artifacts and that they "belong in a museum". Safe to say with the Bucks, that Giannis is their Indy and is looking to discover another relic, maybe one in the shape of the championship trophy. |

Shrek - Shrek. Young or old, everyone was a fan of the original Shrek. It was a genius film which had something for everyone. Shrek was another unsung hero who was not after any limelight or fame, he just wanted his swamp back. However, little did he know his journey in doing so would turn him into a hero and a lover, finding his very own princess and saving her. He did eventually get his swamp back along with companions he made along the way. |

Forest Gump - Forest Gump. What an epic tail of a chronic overachiever and a man who did so much and touched so many people without having any intention of doing so. Forest who served in the military, played ping pong for his country, created a successful shrimping company, invested in a fruit company (Apple) and ran around the USA. All while trying to find the love of his life, Jenny (or Jennay). The way this movie ties all Forest's achievements into real life events, make it a fascinating masterpiece. |

Lieutenant Aldo "The Apache" Raine - Inglorious Basterds. As I am writing this I regret not having him higher. This is one of my all-time favourite movies and Aldo Raine is a big reason for that. There are many amazing scenes, but the one where they're speaking Italian is so funny. Similar to the previous one, although the movie is fiction, and in classic Tarantino fashion he re-writes history with The Basterds assassinating Hitler. This film has two all-time characters, with the other being Nazi soldier Colonel Hans Landa (played by Christoph Watlz). |

Luke Skywalker - Star Wars. Luke Skywalker was a farmboy who rose from humble beginnings to become one of the greatest Jedi the galaxy has ever known. Luke led the rebellion to battle the evil Empire and ended the tyranny of the Sith. Not to mention accidently kissing his sister. Luke was trained by another all-time character in Yodo, who taught him all there is about the force and how to use it. |

The Joker - The Dark Night. This performance is tied in with sadness as it was the last one before Heath Ledger passed away. The Joker is a was a well know and portrayed character, but this one hits different. The Joke was captivating on screen and was a big reason why this movie is regarded so highly. Terminator - Terminator 2 - Judgment Day. I know this is only one movie of a franchise, but this one was incredible. It almost seems like a role destined to be play by bodybuilder turned actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger. This movie is action packed and is surely one of the more quoted movies, with some great lines from the terminator and his distinct accent. The whole storyline for these films is great too, involving robots and time travel. |

Buzz Lightyear - Toy Story. Similarly to terminator, Buzz also has some great quotes. "To infinity and beyond". Buzz and the whole movie was a massive hit when it came out when I was a kid in 1995. It's crazy that the films, which there have been more of since then, and the character specifically Woody and Buzz are still as popular as ever. Buzz along with Woody let multiple rescue missions from other toys of Andys. I still appreciate to this day when I see a buzz and Woody toy hanging off the back of a car. |

John McClane - Die Hard. Maybe Die Hard sneaks in here cause its Christmas time and people argue that Die Hard is a Christmas movie, or maybe its because John McClane is a bad ass who with reckless abandonment manages to take down terrorists and criminals on multiple occasions. I keep thinking here is another character with great quotes, but maybe that is the thing with all these characters that makes them so great. |

Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell - Top Gun. It came with some concern when I found out that a sequel was being made to the classic movie, but it did not disappoint. Maverick was still as cocky, charismatic and likeable, all while being the hero of the movies. The original was a timeless classic and I feel the second one will be classified as one also. | |

The Bride - Kill Bill. More amazing Tarantino films which was carried by Uma Thurman who is a samurai sword wielding bad ass, hell bent on revenge towards her former assassin colleagues who turned on her when she tried to get out and have a family, with Bill being one of them. These movies have some wild fight scenes and with a sort of video game feeling to it, having to beat a different boss at each stage. That scene where she pulls out the other girls eye after have a katana duel and squashes it between her toes. insane. |

V - V for Vendetta. This is the third movie Hugo Weaving has been a part of, but this is his first mention. The character V who wears a Guy Faulkes mask is a freedom fighter planning a terrorist attack on a future British tyrannical government. V has some amazing monologues and interactions with initially captured turned ally in Evey (Natalie Portman). |

Frank Abagnale Jr - Catch Me If You Can. This is another one I feel could be higher as this is one of my favourite movies too. The fact it is based on a true story also makes it all the more impressive. Frank is a Entrepeneur.. well a criminal one. He learns from a young age how to do what he wants and get away with it. He learns how to forge checks to get cash, create fake certificates to become pilots and doctors and lead the police on a international goose chase. After years of perfecting his craft, once captured by the police uses his talents for good and works for the police fraud department in catching people trying to do what he did. Cool story line and great perfomances. |

Mad Max - Mad Max. Filmed in the Australian Outback, Mad Max is the tale of a former police officer who seeks to take down a Motocycle gang. Man did it grow from there. It then escalated into a world on the verge of destruction which Max gets thrust into he fire. He comes up against some larger-than-life enemies, one being Tina Turner, which he is forced to take down. Although a lone traveller, he manages to find ways to help those in need around him. It is a very cool storyline and universe which has continued with two recent movies being made. |

Rocky Balboa - Rocky. I couldnt of done a write up about big time movie characters and not included the famous Rocky Balboa. These boxing movies are some of the greats. Fun fact Sylvester Stallone wrote Rocky and had some troubles find a studio to produce it because he would only accept it if he played Rocky. Which he obviously finally did. Stallone when on to write and direct 4 out of the 4 sequel movies. Rocky is a true underdog story, showing will and drive to compete and win against the best boxers in the world. |

Captain Jack Sparrow - Pirates of the Carribean. This is an iconic character, that seems like it was one Johnny Depp was born to do. These movies might have fallen off the more they made, but the first three are amazing. Sparrow is like the lovable anti-hero who seems to end up doing the right thing from time to time. His main goal initially was getting his beloved black pearl (his ship) back after he was mutinied against, but his journey leads him down a lot of different paths. |

Eleven - Stranger Things. This TV show, led by Eleven took the world by storm. I am sure the nostalgic 80's references helped with the popularity, but the storyline and performances were definitely the main part. Its a really cool storyline, where Eleven has powers but is mistreated and escapes to a close nit group of Nerds (and I say Nerds with love, cause I am one) who take her in. However, it turns out she protects them more than they ever could of imagined. | |

Jordan Belfort - The Wolf of Wall Street. Based on a true story, this larger than life character is a captivating watch. Belfort who is a self made man, who changed the wall street industry by bending a lot of the rules. The ever-growing wealth led to more and bigger shenanigans. The accumulation of wealth by Belfort by ripping of people on the stock market, kind of reminds me of Portland ripping of people on the trade market and somehow getting at least a first no matter who he is sending out. |

William Wallace - Braveheart. This sad but epic tail of a Scottish warrior who leads his countrymen in rebellion against the tyranny of King Edward the first. Wallace no doubt has ability on the battlefield, but he gets his fellow Scotts to rally behind by being a leader. He embarrasses the English on many occasions. "You may take our lives, but you will never take out FREEEEEEEDOM!" |

Marty McFly - Back to the Future. An epic movie franchise, led by the time travelling McFly. The initial adventure shows him as a 17-year-old time travel 30 years into the past in a Delorean time travel machine. There he meets his parents and blows some minds with music and a guitar solo well beyond the times. |

Katniss Everdeen - The Hunger Games. A really cool concept, where teenagers from different wealth classes are put into a televised battle to the death for the entertainment of the masses. Billy Madison - Billy Madison. For last on the list I thought an Adam Sandler character was fitting, even though Billy Madison is still an all time movie and character. The lovable halfwit enters a bet that he can finish and abridged version of schooling in order to inherit his fathers hotel empire. A silly but hilarious movie and character, which has led to some classic quotes. Hopefully the GSW can breeze through the schooling and turn their franchise into their own empire. |
