Homemade cassette mixtapes - I guess it was fun at the time, but also kind of annoying, having to record songs off the radio and then pause the cassette when the song stopped. I caught the tail end of cassettes as mentioned above they were proceeded by the classic walkman.
Toronto Raptors - Power Ranking
All RankingsOverall the Raptors perplex me, I must say. They came into the year with some absolutely top level talent and a whole bunch of hope that it would connect and they would get onto their winning ways. They opened cap space moving off KD, but didn't necessarily lose out too much talent wise in doing so, which is a win. But then when it didn't work they went the full reset. Now there's nothing really wrong with that, we have seen teams like Portland do this with emphatic success, but the team went from having at least 2 1st round picks in 5 years and guys like Towns, Brunson, Hart, Bam? Others...to still only 1x 2026 1st, 5 1sts total and now only Walker Kessler whom is role player and an expiring Simons, with a swathe of "potential" with no real star standing out of the kids. Bub? Tre? Likely? Solid role players. Young. But where are the real prizes from moving out of so much top tier talent? Like I said, perplexed. But, Dylan is one of the most active GMs around and he has been in similar spots before and come out the other side looking strong. Will this be another of those that comes out of leftfield? It might hinge entirely on if that 2026 1st becomes #1.
I am not looking for anything serious at all. I have quit my job and sold all of my things. I just want a clean slate, to work on myself at the moment. But thanks for swiping right on me.
The Peacekeeper - Not causing much damage—just existing in the middle of games.
Dumb and Dumber - "So you're telling me there's a chance." Lloyd Christmas was told one in a million odds and called it a chance. This GM, deep in the standings, is holding that same energy. Every week there's a scenario where they could climb out, a big injury to a rival team, a surprise player on a two way, a perfectly average matchup that somehow goes their way. It hasn't happened. The van shaped like a dog keeps breaking down. Harry and Lloyd keep taking wrong turns. But the dumb optimism is endearing, and one in a million IS technically a chance. Unfortunately it's still a million to one and that’s the way they like it.
The Absent-in-Spirit Teacher 0–13 start says it all. Fully in rebuild mode - talent exists, but the focus is clearly on a major retool. Like a teacher already planning next year’s class, this one isn’t worried about current results. "Mr Dylan...the bell went...can we go?"
Fontecchio/3x 1sts FOR Lively/Amari. The first obvious trade here I could've looked at as a real turning point was the Raptors blockbuster deal sending out KAT and Brunson. With so many parts involved, subsequent smaller deals that followed and a bunch of future assets who's outcome is yet to be seen; We'll bookmark that now and revise in due time. Instead we drill down on a more recent deal where the Raps sent out 3 firsts for Lively. Now granted, 2/3 were Bucks 1sts so lets just assume they're pretty late in the first round. But sending out their own 2030 1st, given Lively' situation... Just seems like a lot of risk that didn't need to happen. It's also deal that puts a dent in their draft capital cache' that possibly could've been used to net a star if they just stayed patient. With all that being said though, Lively is young and he IS a certified glitch. May very well make me look pretty stupid once it all pans out.
Locking yourself out of the house - Doing this is far from ideal, speaking from my own personal experiences. I was just fortunate enough to have a dog door that I was able to squeeze through. In a worse case, one might have to break into their own home. Toronto have started a rebuild this year, so let's home they hold on to the keys to their own castle.
Toronto is one of my favorite teams, taking on low risk/medium reward spare parts like Marcus Sasser and Justin Edwards. Two young prospects that could end up being solid rotation guys some day.
The Shape of Water (2017) – weird, creative, and somehow it works. The Raptors have torn it up. Like Guillermo's masterpiece, the Raptors are ready for the next stage of life. To shapeshift and redefine is never easy, and the Toronto Raptors, led by GM Dylan, may have created a competitive squad even after pressing detonate.
First things first, how is Johni Broome only 23 years old? Anyways, Toronto is a solid team, I think they lack some of that star power and without their first, they can't really blow it up just yet for one.
The Influencial Kid- He has rich parents, is pretty good at everything and has connections everywhere. Boys and girls are often talking about him or to him and he always throws the best parties bringing together people from all groups. He's not really sure what he wants and people are often wondering what exactly drives him, but he's definitely a hot topic.
Toronto Raptors — Raphael (TMNT) - Intensity without polish. Physical defense, limited half-court scoring. A slide for a team with high aspirations. 23rd in the PR has brought them to a realisation, and GM Dylan has pressed detonate, and asked Master Splinter for guidance. New chapters for the Raptors.
Fallin’ – Alicia Keys Reflective and soulful, “Fallin’†explores emotional push-and-pull and attachment amid conflict. Its theme of internal struggle mirrors a team navigating inconsistent performance or testing leadership and trust. A team that will begin falling by design
A Lot Like Birds: The Raptors reflect A Lot Like Birds dual-vocalist approach and layered, dynamic style. A Lot Like Birds combined clean and screamed vocals with intricate instrumentation, constantly shifting textures, and moments of controlled chaos that kept listeners engaged. Toronto leans on Karl-Anthony Towns, the 6th best player in the NSL, and Jalen Brunson, the 6th best point guard, as complementary leaders who drive the team on both ends of the floor. Like the band, the Raptors thrive when their two stars interact in harmony and contrast, balancing skill sets to create a performance greater than the sum of its parts.
Wheel of Fortune: Signifies cycles, fate, and unexpected change. A shift in luck or turning point beyond your control. Was Dylan bound to end up with Brunson, KAT and Hart, after declaring his love for the real-life Knicks players? New season, new team for Toronto. Dyl still working them out.
Toronto isn’t awful — they’re just stuck in that weird NBA limbo where they’re too good to tank and too mid to matter. At least Thanasis is here, providing elite bench clapping.
Childhood Reference: The Overpowered Build in a Create-A-Player Video Game. Toronto is the kid who maxed out all the wrong stats — 99 three-point shooting AND 99 strength, because why not? Karl-Anthony Towns is basically the glitch character dominating against kids still using defaults. The Raptors look unstoppable for moments… and hilariously chaotic for others. Expect tinkering and adjustments to be made to bring Brunson's dominance, and the support from Hart and Andrew Wiggins. "I'm gonna make him 7'3 with elite 99 on hustle, stamina, vertical and intangibles! I will call him Chungus!"
