With its catchy melody and suggestive lyrics, "Physical" broke barriers by openly discussing themes of intimacy, encouraging listeners to embrace their sensuality and the physical aspects of relationships. A team that hangs its hat on length and defence. Using their physicality to strangle the option offences, a team that no offensive player looks forward to playing. Unless its Devin Booker, he seems to have this team circled on the scheduled and slices through their defence like they are witches hats.

14 7 67 Mia 8-4 7. Miami Heat (France) The Heat's 'artistic flair' on the court parallels France's 'cultural economy,' blending 'style' with 'substance' to create a 'luxurious brand' of basketball. A Euro Flair with Lauri Markkanen joining the team has brought about a new era of Heat basketball - one for the fans!

13 9 65 Mia 8-4 Battle Axe Big, heavy and devestating in hand to hand combat GM Pistol swings the Battle Axe to great effect. The combination of strength and size makes this weapon feared on the battlefield. The can be exploited by swift moving opponents who can cut through the defenses but if not timed well a mangled corpse will be left behind.

12 16 49 Mia 6-6 Miami Heat - "Walking on Sunshine" – Katrina & The Waves (1985) Pure joy in song form, used in countless commercials, and the branding of the Miami Heat at the moment seems good. The team is walking on sunshine, they know who they are and where they’re heading and the progression of this roster is one of the best in the league. 6-6 in the recent run of form is admirable, and they would be wanting more wins. But, the groove and feeling of this team is one that I feel can continue to be in the ears of the NSL for years to come.

11 7 67 Mia 8-5 Miami Heat: The Mind Flayer 🧠🌀 Why? The Heat operate like a cerebral hive mind, leveraging tactical precision and psychic synergy to overwhelm foes. Their 4-game win streak hints at awakening psionic dominance, but their 21-26 record reveals lingering instability. Elder Brain (Strategic Core): Derrick White orchestrates the colony with surgical playmaking and clutch two-way execution, bending opponents to his will like a psionic puppetmaster. Tentacles (Versatile Threats): Nikola Vucevic and C.J. McCollum act as probing appendages, stretching defenses with floor-spacing and post mastery. Young thrall Jalen Duren adds raw, explosive energy to the hive. Illithid Tadpoles (Untapped Potential): Prospects like Bilal Coulibaly and Keon Ellis lurk in the shadows, ready to metastasize into lethal weapons.

10 15 48 Mia 6-7 A Secluded Cottage Camp Fire - Comfortable the Miami Heat sit. 6-7 with an emerging list of players both young, and vetted. Things remain calm - nice - pleasant. Noone else is around - GM PK has his team as he would want them this week. But, like any secluded camp fire story can go... a) Is there a family of zombies or hillbillys out there? b) Will Cousin Jethrow throw petrol on the fire? c) Has the wind changed up recently? No. I'm just being erratic. Things are calm and nice, and it's nice to finally unwind by the fire.

9 19 45 Mia 6-7 Oberyn Martell - One of the cooler character in the series. He came onto the screen with a bang, wanting revenge against the Lannisters for their crimes against his family, more specifically against the Mountain. Through his own design he found himself up against The Mountain in a trial by combat, which litterally had me yelling on the couch, "STOP TOYING WITH HIM AND FINISH IT", then moments later, "NOOOOOOO, YOU FOOL". Was an incredible fight scene and another classic game of thrones sequence of events. I may be wrong, but I feel this also put Pedro Pascal on the map too.

7 25 20 Mia 3-9 Hansel and Gretel - Miami - Outsmart a witch and find their way home, proving resourcefulness.GM PistolPK and his Miami Heat have remained resourceful and considerate of their future needs. Placing breadcrumbs to find their way back home, however do they have the smarts to outwit the witches out there. Miami have shown significant upside and progression, and their young core is impressive. At the moment they remain two kids in the woods searching for a brighter tomorrow - whether it is the story of them being abandoned or simply running away. Miami are the same - searching for the next big thing to change the future - til then they remain 25th on the Power Rankings.

6 22 31 Mia 4-8 Carl Fredricksen (Up) - 'I didn't ask for this. I am not your master!' I have no doubt that the NSL would not exist without Pete showing leadership and grit and committing as wholeheartedly to the conception of our great league. I'm not sure he will ever get the flowers (balloons) that he deserves, so I hope he (inflates) buys himself some. Firm are the hands that steer the ship, and Pete fluctuates between joy and banter and a weightedness of responsibility, enforcing of cultural norms and tech problem solving. He doesn't mince words but make no mistake, he is the ultimate steward and nurturer for this league and community. His Miami Heat are 'Paradise Falls'. For Carl, the journey is what drives him during the second phase of his life, to find purpose for himself. With Pete's league in the best shape it has ever been, pistol needs to turn his attention to the Heat team; mired in mediocrity, can Pete float and fly them to the beautiful heights he longs for?

5 17 44 Mia 6-7 Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs) - Miami Heat are strategic, clinical, and focused on dominating through intelligence and precision—similar to Hannibal Lecter, calculated and manipulative. “I do wish we could chat longer, but I’m having an old friend for dinner.” Like Lecter’s ability to dismantle his foes with psychological precision, the Heat’s well-coached and methodical style of play breaks down opponents. With GM PistolPK, the Heat have been able to hurt teams using their own assets - truly in the mind of others.

4 18 36 Mia 5-8 Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell - Top Gun. It came with some concern when I found out that a sequel was being made to the classic movie, but it did not disappoint. Maverick was still as cocky, charismatic and likeable, all while being the hero of the movies. The original was a timeless classic and I feel the second one will be classified as one also.

3 18 43 Mia 6-7 Another candidate for MIP this year is Derrick White, not only that, but him averaging 30ppg, being a tenacious defender, AND having Miami hover around .500 might be enough to guarantee some MVP votes as well

2 15 32 Mia 4-4 "White Lines" - Duran Duran- Tough not to do a song cause it works for two of the top players, Derrick White and Jalen Duren. The Heat have been great to start especially with CJ McCollum out to start the season, I believe he was an all-star last year and things can be tough without a guy of that caliber, but White has leveled up this year.

1 8 26 Mia 3-1 Will Someone Say Miami?!?! Pistol definitely will! Our NSL forefather is up and about his discord posts have doubled or tripled in frequency, dropping hints and suggestions about his team and how good they are. I am all for it; team pride is something I love seeing and Miami might be finally ready to make an impact on the NSL, on the court. Great roster.
