NSL Insider - Premium:Check out these stat lines!

by Jasonpitts, updated on Thursday, January 02 2025, 01:22 am EST

Welcome to the NSL 2024/25 season where you have officially entered the statistical circus.
Across the board, we have played witness to some massive stat lines to start our season off, and it does not look like slowing down any time soon. Week after week we are seeing the upper tier of players dominate, scoring 40, 50, 60 points game after game. What a spectacle to witness. Many were praying for the Next Gen engine for our league and boy have there been some spicy changes.

It is no surprise that the stars are getting theirs, but I don’t think anyone predicted it just like this. Four players enter Q2 of the season averaging over 40 points per game… let that sink in. The tenth highest scorer at 31.2PPG would almost be at the top of the board in most years.

So I thought it would be interesting to deep dive into the top ten of all the generic categories with some additional fun ones to tickle your fancy. Without further ado!

Points Per Game:
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo - 47.3
2. Anthony Edwards - 41.3
3. LeBron James - 40.9
4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - 40.1
5. James Harden - 36.8
6. Kyrie Irving - 36.7
7. Jayson Tatum - 36.4
8. Stephen Curry - 35.1
9. DeAaron Fox - 33.1
10. Luka Doncic - 31.2

Giannis sits head and shoulders above the rest of the field here, 6 points clear from his nearest rival Mr AnthonyEdwards. The Greek Freak has hit 60 three times, topping out at 65. It has been a wild ride to watch. No one personis surprising to be on this list, te list is just astronomically high! Last year SGA averaged 40.3PPG, Curry 38.6PPGand D.Fox 34.7PPG to round out the top 3, a clear difference to the scoring potency of 2024/25.
Also worth noting, as the Utah Jazz GM, that Dejounte Murray has scored 48 and 44 respectively in his first twogames of the season, so there may be another one on this list shortly!

Rebounds Per Game:
1. Nikola Jokic - 18.3
2. Andre Drummond - 17.8
3. Deandre Ayton - 14.9
4. Domantas Sabonis - 14.9
5. Victor Wembanyama- 14
6. Rudy Gobert - 13.8
7. Karl Anthony Towns - 13.4
8. Alperen Sengun - 13.3
9. Clint Capella - 13.2
Not surprisingly, Drummond is once again up the top of the board only trailing Nikola Jokic who seems to have finally found out how to play basketball in 2k. 4 rebounds less you will find some the rest of the group, with no outliers here. These numbers are similar to last years numbers.
Assists Per Game
1. Darius Garland - 6.4
2. Trae Young - 6.2
3. Chris Paul - 6.1
4. Giannis - 5.9
5. Nikola Jokic - 5.8
6. LaMelo Ball - 5.5
7. D’Angelo Russell - 5.4
8. James Harden - 5.3
9. Fred Van Vliet- 5.1
10. Jalen Williams - 5

This is the first surprisingly statistic, assists are way down - hero ball lives on! Compared to last year, where Garland, Trae and LaMelo averaged 8.1, 8.1 and 7.7 respectively, these numbers seem very low with a large even spread.

Nice to see some out of position or maybe players finally getting their dues on the board, Jokic ranked 35 last year is now 5th.

Steals Per Game:
1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - 2.2
2. Victor Wembanyama - 2.2
3. Andre Drummond - 2.1
4. Alperen Sengun - 2
5. Edrice Adebayo - 1.7
6. Jimmy Butler - 1.7
7. Domantas Sabonis - 1.7
8. Nikola Jokic - 1.6
9. Jalen Suggs - 1.6
10. Ivica Zubac - 1.6
Crazy to think that only 2 true guards sit on this list, maybe 3 with Butler. Shai leads the alien and then the glitch matrix Drummond. The Joker seems to be appearing on a lot of lists at the moment.

Blocks Per Game
1. Rudy Gobert - 2.6
2. Nic Claxton - 2.5
3. Victor Wembanyama - 2.3
4. Ivica Zubac - 2.3
5. Myles Turner - 2.2
6. LeBron James - 2
7. Giannis Antetokounmpo - 1.9
8. Clint Capela - 1.9
9. Zach Collins - 1.9
10. Anthony Davis - 1.9
No surprises with the French man leading the way here. Great to see someone who I was not expecting on this list, Zach Collins, good job mate. I thought AD would be higher here, and probably a little surprised to see LBJ here too, cannot remember a time he has averaged 2 blocks per game, but I wont ever count out the GOAT.
3PT Per Game
1. Stephen Curry - 6.5
2. James Harden - 4.9
3. Tyler Herro - 4.6
4. Donovan Mitchell - 4.4
5. Jayson Tatum - 4.4
6. Desmond Bane - 4.3
7. Anthony Edwards - 3.9
8. Darius Garland - 3.6
9. Dame Lillard - 3.6
10. Kyrie Irving - 3.5
Some huge 3PT number here, and lovely to see my boy James Harden back where he belongs, having a stellar year to date. Welcome Tyler Herro to the NSL, who has taken big strides this year - watch out Spencer Dinwiddie MIP candidate.

Turnover Per Game
1. LaMelo Ball - 2.8
2. Ben Simmons - 2.8
3. Giannis Antetokounmpo - 2.4

A couple of interesting categories to finish us off. High usage is always related to turnovers, but I was surprised to see Ben Simmons in the fold here.

Dunks Per Game
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo - 6.1
2. Anthony Davis - 3.8
3. LeBron James - 3.6
Giannis is averaging almost 2.5 more dunks than his closet rival, that is staggering. Giannis seems to be having it all his own way this season, and I am not sure I see anyone slowing him down. Kind of cool to see LeBron on this list too, the old dog still got the spring in his step.

+- on court
1. Jrue Holiday +12.1
2. LeBron James +11.1
3. Devin Booker +10.1
4. Clint Capela +9.5
Notice the trend? I thought this was cool, the Washington Wizards are dominating the league and as a result have dominated the +/- of the league. Also how they are slowly receding the same amount was cool too. It will be interesting to keep an eye on this moving forward. Go Wizz.

Mo Bamba with 2.6 blocks per game, must be minimum game requirement I think!
