NSL Insider - Bulls vs Sixers Review by Dylan, updated on Friday, May 15 2020, 11:29 am EST Chicago Bulls vs Philadelphia 76ers In what was voted by 100% of the leagues GM’s for the series to go in favour of the Chicago Bulls, Philly was up against all odds. Chicago had been the leading team in the East from the beginning of the season and Philadelphia were fighting for the chance to face them for the last 4 weeks of the season in a tight race for 8th. This is how the series played out. Game 1 Chicago 113 – Philadelphia 97 It was all about hustle in game 1 with both teams shooting well. Chicago won with grit and grind outrebounding the Sixers 55-49 and won the turnover battle 7 to 13. POTG Anthony Davis was the driving force as he has been all season for the Bulls finishing with 22p, 18r, 5a, 3s, 2b but had great help with DeAngelo Russell finishing with 21p, 7r, 10a, 2s. Hassan Whiteside for the Sixers was phenomenal in the loss finishing with 12p, 25r, 3a, 1s, 3b. Game 2 Chicago 111 – Philadelphia 94 Game 2 was the battle of the shooting guards. With both teams leaving the dirty work to their big men it was Lou Williams providing the scoring punch for Chicago Bulls with 29p, 4r, 9a, 1s while JJ Reddick for Philly finished with 24p, 1r, 1a, 1s. POTG was once again Anthony Davis finishing with 21p, 14r, 6a, 5s, 4b. Game 3 Philadelphia 82 – Chicago 110 We head to Philly with Chicago leading the series 2-0 it was unfortunately not to be for the Sixers with the Bulls up by 24 points at the half leaving the rest of the game for the reserves. Whiteside showed for the Sixers finishing with 12p, 11r, 1s and Anthony Davis once again POTG with 22p, 9r, 1a, 1s, 1b in 29 minutes of play. Game 4 Philadelphia 78 – Chicago 115 Chicago wins the series with a statement win on Philadelphia's home court. It was the Lou Williams show once again, getting hot from 3 hitting 7-15 and finishing up with 25p, 7a. While Hassan Whiteside once again shows his paint presence ending with 4p, 17r, 1a, 1s, 1b. A tough series for Philadelphia with Chicago winning the series 4-0. The series never looked in doubt for the Chicago Bulls proving why they were the top team all year. A fantastic show from Philadelphia however to reach the playoffs but was matched up against a much stronger opponent. Chicago will move on to round 2 too face the winner of the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers. |
