NSL Insider - Raptors vs Pistons Review

by Joshua, updated on Thursday, May 14 2020, 03:15 am EST

Raptors (3) vs Pistons (6)

Here we have the Toronto Raptors and their vocal GM Jesse up against Sheed and his Detroit Pistons, both squads are littered with big name players on the court and unfortunately on the sideline. A Lot of the talent in these two well put together sides, the final results show a one sided series but if you told me the Raptors won 4-3 I wouldn't have been shocked, that's how talented the Pistons are. It being a sweep is a testament to the skill of the Raptors GM.
Game 1: Toronto started the game hot winning the first 3 quarters quite handily before the Pistons put up a major fight in the last putting up 32 points to 21 but the Raptors ended up holding on to win the game. Lillard led the way scoring 38 points as well as having 8 assists and 7 rebounds.
Game 2: Toronto really took hold of the series in this one with a huge second half to set up a 24 point win at home. It was a well rounded effort from the Toronto side with 7 players scoring at least 11 points in the game. Goran Dragic has a vintage game for the Pistons but it wasn't enough to get his side over the line.
Game 3: More of the same from the Raptors here with another resounding win, led by their two all star guards in Lillard and Holiday scoring 24 and 23 respectively. Dragic once again led the Pistons from the front putting up 20 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds and Bam Adebayo brings it offensively with 24 points and 9 rebounds.
Game 4: Dame wanted to end the series and so he did, putting up 31 points, 9 assists. It was a dominant end to the series for Toronto, winning by 15 points in the end. For the Pistons, Spencer Dinwiddie had his best game for the postseason putting up an efficient 26 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Good effort from the Detroit Pistons and I'm sure this won't be the last time we see this talented squad in the playoffs.
Good luck to the Toronto Raptors in the next series against the Washington Wizards.
