Portland vs Dallas
The 1st
seed in the Portland trailblazers with veteran trader and GM Joel at the helm
vs the elusive and talented GM Lj at the 8th seed. This series ended up being a
lot closer than what was predicted with the Blazers a 95 percent chance to win
in a survey of the other GMs in the league and the experts (GC6 and Leeroy)
picking the series to go for 5 games and a sweep, both in favour of Portland.
The
series really was a tale of blowouts with only 2 games finishing with a final
score being under 4 points apart and has the other 4 games with an average
margin of victory at a whopping 24 points!
Game 1
ended with an unsurprising results with a 10 point victory going to the Blazers
after they got cooking in the 3rd quarter putting up 37 points and rode that
buffer until the end, James Harden did James Harden things with a stat line of
40, 10 and 6. Incredible.
Game 2
went Dallas’s way with a 2 point victory it what was a close contest throughout
the whole game. Zinger put up a monster stat line of 29 points and 19 rebounds.
Game 3
was a blowout for Portland (no time for panic stations yet) with James Harden
putting up 32 and 10. Dallas had a fightback in the second quarter winning it
by 7 points but were comprehensively beaten in the other 3.
Game 4
was another close win for Dallas to tie the series at 2-2 with Zinger once
again leading the way with 39 points and 8 rebounds. Even though the series is
tied, Portland seemed to be still in control with them only using by a combined
5 points total in the 2 losses.
Game 5 is
where thinks really go pear shaped for Dallas with a whopping 46 point loss and
failing to score 100 points in a game for the series. Portland shot out of the
blocks with a 32-13 first quarter and never looked back from there. it was a
well rounded victory with 6 players scoring in double digits for the Blazers
led by the offensive star that is James Harden, scoring 33 points, dishing out
6 assists and hauling in 4 rebounds.
Game 6 at
Dallas ended up being a blow out to close the series, Dallas kept up for the
first two quarters but really put the pedal to the metal in the second half to
hold Dallas beneath 20 points scored in both of the quarters.
Well done
to both GMs on making the playoffs and good luck to Joel in the second round!
