Here comes the money $$$

No this is not a Shane McMahon reference do not worry.. this is the conundrum that the Utah Jazz are facing. Where does the money come from? With no money tree in sight, there are various other ways to bridge the minimum salary wobbly tight rope.

The Jazz have opened the borders to all, with a slurry of minimum players coming across from teams feeling the need to shed their unwanted talent. Utah have been more than accomodating for such players, and slowly accumulating a nice little kitty of GMs to spend at their discretion. Some have said they are holding some GMs close to their chest as a fall back to account for the minimum salary fine, which ironically TRIPLED this season. It is almost like the 40mil under salary the Jazz faced threw a spanner in the face of the admin.

Nonetheless, Salt lake have their ways. We have been making minor trade after minor trade, with potentially some larger ones at play, we will have to wait and see. There are also two young guns that may be lacking the 'gun' as Ramsey and Brown recently were released from their respective clubs. This allows the flexibility to sign some of the higher priced free agents to bridge the gap further.

As the focus of the ball club is to look to the future, these 1 year contracts are ideal to ride the salary up for this season, however not affecting the seasons to come. The core group of guys for the Jazz have exceeded all expectations and the belief is that they will continue to do so. Giddey, Wagner and Duarte are all participating in the rookie festivities this weekend and are on the cusp of locking a spot in the all NBA Rookie team some would be thinking. Because of their rise, the brass of the Jazz are ok with taking on money over the next 2,3 years giving their prized possessions the time they need to blossom and manage their inevitable large extensions.

It seems the time of having cap space as an asset has come and gone, as no one is interesting in attaching assets to get off bad contracts, The Jazz may turn to free agency, they may land a big expiring fish, or they may just keep waiving the poor souls of the trade wheel.

If you are looking to get off some bad money, come speak to us. If you are in the lux and to make some GMs, you should also come speak to us, as we have a bunch of GMs burning a hole in our pocket waiting for a first rounder to pop up.

And if you are worried about the Jazz' financial troubles, don't be. We will rise once again...

Thanks for reading, from Quinn.
