Playoff Baby!
Playoffs Baby!
The Washington Wizards have made it into the playoffs in the inaugural season of the incredible NSL. After seeming to be having a developmental year after trading for the injured Jusurf Nurkic the Wizards GMs competitive juices led to a timeline turnaround trading the injured Nurkic for the Swiss Maestro Clint Capela to man the middle. From that the point the Wizards GM wanted to make the playoffs and make it they did, landing in the 7th seed to face the Atlanta Hawks in round 1 who the Wizards went 3-1 against during the course of the season.
The city of Washington is buzzing with this excitement at the prospect of their team making an extended playoff run and GM Joshua has only added to the electricity of it all by stating “Why cant we go all the way? We might be young but on the back of our young star duo in Devin Booker and Brandon Clarke the sky is the limit for us.” That sort of confidence has gone right through the organisation and has very player, staffer, coach and even the bus boy believing that this Wizards team are capable of anything in the postseason.
Realistically what are the Wizards chances? The chances of the 7th seed beating the 2nd seed historically is quite low, does that bother the young wizards? No! The bravado and moxy these young players have shown lead the GM to believe they have a chance to beat any opponent if they play their own game and put in the most effort on the night. The future is bright for this young side and whatever happens in the playoffs, the experience gained by paling in games where the lights shine the brightest can only be a good thing for this sides future.
The Washington Wizards believe they are a team to be watched for many years to come but this see what they can do in the here and now.
Go Wiz
