Pick 58: Sir'Jabari Rice

There�s been
a bit of a time lag since our last article about the 76ers draft day, but we�re
back now to take a look at the next 76er hopeful drafted back in the July
draft.
In the back
end of the draft the 76ers opted to take some fliers on undrafted NBA guys, and
after claiming Audige at pick 56, and Valerio-Bodon with the 57th
pick, they now were back on the clock for pick 58.
With the 58th
pick in the NSL draft, the Philadelphia 76ers select�
Sir�Jabari Rice.

Height: 6�4

NBA Team: San Antonio Spurs 2way Contract
Sir�Jabari
may be a little older for a rookie at 24, but this makes him a very NBA ready
prospect with a great feel and IQ for the game. He played 5 years in College,
finishing up in Texas where he was used as a 6th man and won the Big-12
6th man of the year award in doing so with averages of 13 points,
3.5 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal on 47/37/87 shooting in 25 minutes a game.
His tenacity on both ends, and killer pump fake earned him recognition, and an
immediate 2way contract with the Spurs after going undrafted.
In Summer League
action, Rice was held out for the first few games due to a medical issue, but
was finally given the green light for the final 2 games of the Spurs summer
league. In 17 minutes a game he averaged 12 points, 2 rebounds and 3.5 steals hounding
the ball on the defensive end and playing like a man possessed to show what he
can do in limited time.
Rice, as a
2way, will likely spend a fair amount of time in Austin in the GLeague, however
given his age, maturity, skillset and how well he would fit into the Spurs
system, it wouldn�t be surprising to see him earn some minutes at a fairly
fluid point guard spot in San Antonio. Maybe even that full contract by seasons
end.
The 76ers
are happy to have him in the wings, ready to contribute.
