Franchise starters - Top 10 Rising Stars Under 25

In the thrilling landscape of the NBA's 2024 season, young talents are not
just knocking on the door of greatness; they're kicking it wide open.
Let's break down the top 10 rising stars under 25, in order of who I
think you would want to start your NSL franchise around tomorrow if you
could. It is a rare thing to find youthful brilliance with All Star
dominance, where is the fine line of age for a rebuild and going all
in.

1. Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks) 23 Years Old

Luka, the Slovenian sorcerer, is enchanting the court with an impressive 35 points per game, 9 rebounds and 10 assists per game, some obscene numbers to be consistently dropping. It's like watching a wizard orchestrate the perfect play. Who needs a wand when you have Doncic's magic on the court? The Jazz unfortunately missed out on securing Luka with a seriously lucrative haul, head office are still salty about it.. Nonetheless, it is seriously something special to watch him play, if you can get through the on court antics.

2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder) 23 Years Old

Shai is turning defenders into mere mortals, dancing his way to 31 points per game along with 5.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists but shooting an unreal 55% from the field. Opponents are left doing the two-step as he pirouettes through defenses. Seeing this young man take OKC to the next level is really fun, and its super cool to see how amazing he has become in the NSL. If only we all had an SGA on our squad.

3. Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves) 21 Years Old

Edwards is soaring through the air like a basketball phoenix, boasting an impressive 25 points per game with 5 rebounds and 5 assists. His dunks are a highlight reel, making opponents question gravity itself. They're not just baskets; they're works of art. But that is not all Edwards is, its potential, untapped potential. He could be anything this kid. He may appear somewhat inconsistent but man oh man is he someone I would build a franchise around.

4. Ja Morant (Memphis Grizzlies) 22 Years Old

Morant, is a sophisticated, classy young gentleman that keeps his head down and is a great role model to all That is what you'd like to hear for your franchise player, but you probably are not going to get that here. Instead, you get a fiery, no F***s given, bonafide star that will eat you for breakfast. He ignites his team and can win any game on his own back. In his little playing time, he averaged 25 points per game with 6 rebounds and 8 assists. His speed is captivating, It's like trying to catch smoke in the wind you can't. Ja is the Flash of the NBA, leaving defenders in a blur of confusion which we all love to see.

5. Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers) 21 Years Old

Haliburton is conducting a symphony when he is on the court and is one of my favourite players. Unfortunately Vitt is very particular about his star and would not entertain moving him for basically anything. His game continues to elevate, especially in fantasy - and now it looks like it may relate to winning basketball in Indiana. 23 points per game and a whopping 12.5 assists, its genuinely mesmerising to watch him throw the ball around the court. As a Sacramento fan, I truly do miss him, but it has worked out pretty well for us so far. You are welcome back at any time Tyrese.

6. Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics) 24 Years Old

Tatum is averaging 25 points per game, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. He has shown that he can do it all and takes over a game whenever he needs too. His downfall however has been how he is leading a Boston team that continues to crack in the playoffs. They seem like a well oiled regular season team under Tatum, however he needs to elevate them to championship pedigree. Any team would be lucky to start building around this guy.

7. Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns) 25 Years Old

Booker makes everything look easy. His fadeaway baseline jumper is probably the sweetest in the league. He seems to be developing a two way game that will benefit him and everyone around him. The scoring is at an all time high, so there is not much more on offense he could be doing. He just fits in here at 25, but he's a top 10 player in the league these days so he well and truly deserves a spot on this list.

8. LaMelo Ball (Charlotte Hornets) 20 Years Old

LaMelo is weaving through defenses like a basketball wizard, delivering 8 assists per game along with 23 points and 5 rebounds. His passes are spells, leaving teammates wide open to knock down shots (if Charlotte could, that would be good). At 20 years old, he is the youngest on the list, but maybe the most magical. People love to see this guy play and for good reason. His brother also brought out a nice shoe.

9. De'Aaron Fox (Sacramento Kings) 24 Years Old

Love me some Fox.  He is so agile and crafty that he makes his way into the key whenever he wants. He has stepped up the defence and the 3 point attempts and makes which adds to how difficult it is to guard him. 28 points per game, 4 rebounds and 5.5 assists is helping the kings stay afloat in a very challenging western conference. It would be great to see him make his second All Star team this year.

10. Scottie Barnes (Toronto Raptors) 21 Years Old

Barnes has finally been freed, kind of the Raptors made some trades which suggested its Scotties team, and maybe it is. He is one of the guys on this list that can do it all, and really well. His one weakness is his all round shooting ability, but even then has games where he is hitting them from everywhere. 20 points per game, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, he will be close to averaging a triple double one day soon. He is a star ready and waiting this kid.

The NBA has never looked better, and so has the NSL. The teams with these players should consider themselves lucky. I for one cannot wait to see this next generation come in and take over the league. The NSL is a tricky landscape and takes time to catch up, however some of these guys are already assassins in our game. Looking forward to seeing it all unfold in our fantasy world.
