NSL Insider - Premium: 1st/2nd/3rd All-Glitchby merencio, updated on Thursday, May 20 2021, 11:14 am EST One of the most fascinating analysis I like to do all year and I really had fun writing this because you never really know what the current 2k engine is going to present us with, really.
That said, the analysis of what constitutes a glitch can be subjective, as well as the all glitch team itself and its selections.
The probability you disagree with names I put up here are great, again, its subjective, so all I can do is tell you my method of evaluating what I considered as a glitch player for this exercise and you tell me who I left out. To be fully honest, this list would probably me more honest if it were a a top 10 big-glitch board because my many queries I made, 90% glitch guards come up, but Im committed to the 1st/2nd team format so glitches are going to be left out, most likely. You see, theres also a lot of nuance when noticing a glitch, because sometimes its not always about the raw number that look like real-life output, but the percentages in which said numbers are being achieved is probably what defines this engine, in a nutshell So, without further ado, heres what I considered a glitch: Any player that, demonstrably, played above his real life numbers, percentages, output, or skill level when compared to this 2k21-based season All-Glitch 1st team
C: Joel Embiid Pacers Best center in the game, NBA and NSL? Perhaps. So why is he a glitch. Even with all his talent, 29 ppg seems up to par for him, however he also added almost 18 rpg and all of this on 65% FG and 46% 3PT. He would most definitely win the NBA MVP with those numbers. PF: Kristaps Porzingis Mavs Another tough choice but I went with Zingis, because the dude has looked like a shell of himself in the past seasons post his ACL tear or perhaps we all just expect more from him. Still 17-12 with 3.4 blks on 57% FG and 36 3P% is great and real-life Mavs would love that!
SF: Paul George Raptors Yes, PG is a good player, but in 2k he is a true force to be dealt with every single game and can fill it up with the best of them, well, not Steph and Lillard level, but he can do it. 34-4-4 on 53% FG and 52 3P% is crazy numbers.
SG: Damian Lillard Spurs Now we get into the discussion about possibly the best player in the entire game this season. Dame does things really well on a crazy pace this year. He is sooo good in the NBA, but think of that on steroids, thats NSL Dame. I could go on about 38-9 from him, but its about so much more than that, I prefer to tell you he lauches nearly 14 threes a game and makes nearly 50% of them, EVERY game. Add to the fact that Spurs are load and he still puts up these numbers. If he were on a lesser talented team, we would see even more wonky type numbers. Think 50-60 points on average.
PG: Steph Curry Nuggets This is the seasons MVP, its not close, its not even funny or fair to the rest of the league when this dude is out here AVERAGING 46 POINTS PER GAME. Oh yeah, almost 9 assists and SIXTY TWO PERCENTAGE FROM THE FIELD, all the while launching 13 3-pointers a game and making SIXTY PERCENT of those. Again, just broken, glitchy, hes already too good in real life, but this is something else entirely. #1 player and glitch in the game. All-Glitch 2nd team As we kick this into high gear here and go a little bit faster, Ill tell you something about each of the particular players that call out my attention the most. C: Dwight Howard Blazers Dwight is the epitome of 2k not knowing when to stop or not updating a once-superstar DNA to reality. Doesnt matter how old he is, hell be starting center material until he retires. His GM knows it too. PF: DeAndre Jordan Knicks Another athletic freak past his prime whos looking like a spry young man in this engine. If there is a rebound, its his, not yours. SF: James Harden Blazers If Portland didnt have this many superstars, this guy would be the #1 player in the league and putting up better numbers than Steph Curry, Im sure of it. You can sim it too and watch him go for 70. With 2 other alphas on the team hell settle for 29-6-4-2 on 52% and lauching 10 threes and making 40% of those. Pedestrian, right? SG: Kyrie Irving Pistons Hes like the Duracell bunny when he plays for the Pistons. Hes all over the place and just puts shots up and does not care. Hes the leader and the biggest reason why the Pistons are so good. 35-6-3 on 51% and 11 3s tossed and making just 45% of those. Crazy. PG: DAngelo Russel Nets Yes, hes been hurt a lot, buy when he plays, its fire! 2k just loves him from day one. Chicago sure could have used this version of DLo last season. A clean 30 ppg on 50%FG and 43 3P% on six attempts. Hes a problem.
Bonus content All-Glitch 3rd team Just thought it would be fun, just a little definition for you.
C: Jonas Valanciunas Knicks - Best bang for your buck for a starting center in the league? PF: Mo Bamba Heat This guy is a starting Center and a blocking machine. What does 2k see in him? SF: Bojan Bogdanovic Pacers Shoots the 3-ball out of his mind this year, sometimes he makes, sometimes he doesnt. SG: Tim Hardaway Jr. Lakers - Same things as Bojan, but he makes less of those. However this might be spot on with real life. PG: Buddy Hield Kings This years version of Buddy for Dipo might have been of the biggest heists of the season. Dude is a chucker, but this is the season to be one. |
