NSL Insider - NSL Mock - First Roundby laddas, updated on Thursday, July 17 2025, 02:36 pm EST 2025 NSL First Round Mock Draft Not going to go too much into the players and their abilities but more just to get some names next to teams for a bit of pre-draft excitement and conversation. Enjoy!
1st POR – Cooper Flagg Easy Pick here, no real explanation needed 2nd POR (traded by NYK to) - Dylan Harper Another easy pick, the 2nd best (some may argue the best) prospect in the draft and Portland establish a fantastic foundation to build on 3rd DET (traded by BRK to) - VJ Edgecombe Don’t fall for the Ace bait here, Take VJ and enjoy one of the best 2 way guards for the next 15 years 4th LAC – Tre Johnson Probably the most natural, smoothest scorer in this draft. Makes it look easy in a 6’6 frame. 5th NYK (traded by POR to) - Khaman Maluach Yeah they have Jarrett Allen, but at 6’9 is he going to be your long term solution at centre? I think NY go the big man here and move JA eventually. 6th DAL – Ace Bailey Word around discord is LJ is a big fan of the guy with a bad attitude. Oozes potential and if he gets his head straight, could be a steal here at 6! 7th MEM (traded by POR to) - Kon Knueppel Easy pick here. Kon is very talented and slips from 4 in the NBA to 7 here. Rootsey rubbing his hands with this value! 8th ATL – Egor Demin Rumours are rife Atlanta already know who they’re going here, but without any confirmation, i will guess they go pass first 6’9 floor general from Russia here 9th MEM – Cedric Coward The Memphis connection is too hard to pass up for Rootsey here and considering his elite 2 way potential, its the right pick to make. 10th MIA – Noa Essengue We know pistol loves lengthy defenders and there might be no better in this draft than Noa. Raw offensively, but if it all clicks, could be one of the best players from this draft in 5 years 11th PHO (traded by POR to) - Jeremiah Fears Phoenix have longed for Egor since March, but with him off the board, they take the next best PG in Fears and enjoy a very welcomed slide. 12th BRK – Collin Murray-Boyles CMB is a jump shot away from having legit all-star potential. His defending and playmaking in the Draymond mould is too much for Breece to pass up here, 3 picks lower than his NBA spot. 13th PHO (traded by POR to) - Carter Bryant 6’8 lockdown wing with huge potential on the offensive side? Lock it in. 14th MIA – Derik Queen Pistol likes his bigs and Queen has a really enticing skillset, opposite to what Duren offers on offence. 15th ORL – Joan Beringer Orlando need a rim protector and Mailo goes possibly the best one here. 16th HOU – Thomas Sorber Houston have a size problem in the front court and lock in OKC’s eventual Hartenstein replacement. Good, safe pick here for Vitty. 17th MEM (traded by POR to) - Kasparas Jakucionis What's better than a 6’6 Pg? 2 of them! Memphis grab Castles backup here at 17 and arguably brings a wider skillset to the position than Castle does. Good value pick here. 18th PHI (SAC owes via protect., traded by DAL to) - Hansen Yang Philly takes the punt on “Chinese Jokic” here. One of my favourite prospects in the draft since draft day and 18 feels about right. 19th PHI (traded by NOP to) - Asa Newell Philly would like a longterm plan for Dray’s successor and Asa could be that guy. Fell to 23 in the NBA but to no fault of his own, is a legitimate top 15 talent in my book. 20th GSW – Nolan Traore The Warriors have their scorcher in Poole, but he doesnt provide defence or much playmaking ability. Enter in Nolan here, who can pair with him in the back court and offers both. 21st PHI – Drake Powell Philly again! They love their intense defensive wings and Powell is one of the best. They lock this one away and enjoy a damn good 1st round haul! 22nd MIN - Walter Clayton Jr. With Dlo a chance to leave via free agency and Cole Anthony more in the 6th man mould, Minny take he NCAA champion floor general at 22. Great value pick and will be welcomed in Minnesota 23rd GSW – Will Riley I’m a big fan of Riley and whenever you have the chance to take a 6’8 SG who can shoot/score, you do it. Warriors come out well with Traore and Riley in the early 20s 24th NOP (traded by POR to) - Jase Richardson With Westbrook on the outs and Dinwiddie not as valuable as he once was, Pelicans hit reset here and draft a guy i think could compete for multiple 6th man awards over his career. An athletic microwave, made for the role. 25th LAC (traded by GSW to) - Yanic Konan Niederhauser With Hartenstein rumoured to be on the way, The Clippers grab his understudy here at 25. Introduced to the game late but full of raw potential to mould. 26th BOS (traded by LAL to) - Ryan Kalkbrenner Boston lack size and a true 2k Centre. While Sengun is talented and will be the Boston centre for the next 10-15 years, giving him a backup like Ryan would be fantastic. Ryan offers great rim protection, tough inside finisher and a nice jumpshot. 27th PHO (traded by UTA to) - Nique Clifford Nique is on the older side, but comes with an NBA ready game and ready to contribute to a team still reeling from the Dame injury. 28th ATL – Rasheer Fleming Atlanta take the long wing here at 28. One of the few areas they probably lack, size on the wings, Rasheer could be their guy. High risk/High reward if it pans out. 29th GSW (traded by MIL* to) - Liam McNeeley Warriors want to add the best talent they can find and Liam is a great value pick here. Slid in the NBA and that works to Daz’s advantage here as they pickup a hardworking, tough wing. 30th MIA* - Danny Wolf Miami closes out the 1st round picking up one of the more skilled 4’s in the draft. While not the typical defence first guy pistol likes, he offers something different at the 4 than the rest on the roster
*Pick swap MIA/MIL
