NSL Insider - Premium: All-NSL Predictions by jmac, updated on Saturday, April 08 2023, 12:53 am EST With just weeks to go of the 2023 NSL regular season, the ALL-NSL teams will soon be at the forefront of the leagues collective mind. Which fifteen players will make the team? Which fifteen players best embody personal and team success? Factors that will impact the decision making will be NSL impact, team success, positions and a sprinkle of real-world value/legacy.
ALL-NSL FIRST TEAM:
* Giannis Antetokounmpo (San Antonio) * LeBron James (Portland) * Kevin Durant (Portland) * Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Milwaukee) * Joel Embiid (Washington)
Making the First Team is a massive achievement in any players career; congratulations to the aforementioned players, Giannis, LeBron, KD, SGA and Joel Embiid.
Giannis leads the team as the undoubted best player in the league who is on the team with the current best record out of all thirty teams. He is great-to-elite in every facet of the game aside from three point shooting and free throws. In the game, he looks about 8 foot tall and the 2k coders really were drinking
Lebron and KD form what is probably the greatest (legitimate) pairing in NSL history (aside from Spurs being gifted nine weeks of Giannis and Lebron), with two of the most complete players in basketball history playing out the twilight of their careers together. On paper, they should be close to unbeatable but this season, stars are as weak as they have ever been in 2k. Both stuff the stat sheet and are a big reason as to why Portland are at the peak.
SGA represents one of the brightest rising stars in the league and fills a guard slot. Developing into one of the games most subtly unstoppable scorers, his crafty finishing, elite agility and persistent focus bodes will for his pursuit for superstardom.
Joel Embiid, arguably the most dominant big man in the game, now on the most dominant team (win streak 20+), is a no-brainer pick to anchor the middle. Possibly his first First-Team, he is a legitimate superstar and inspiring player to follow.
ALL-NSL SECOND TEAM:
* Jayson Tatum (Boston) * Kawhi Leonard (New York) * Devin Booker (Washington) * James Harden (San Antonio) * Bam Adebayo (Memphis)
Top-ten players in the league (world), very impressive. Many of these players are leading their teams to new heights in terms of success. Congratulations to Jayson Tatum, Kawhi, Book, The Beard and Bam.
Jayson Tatum leads the league in scoring and three point shooting and should take the scoring crown, which is a huge achievement. He is the jewel in the crown of the Celtics empire, reaching true superstar-status and leading his team, accordingly. The Celtics are poised to play in the post-season for the first time.
Kawhi needs no introduction. One of the greatest players in the game, an NSL champion and revered competitor. The Knicks have embarrassed almost every other GM when it comes to how great they have performed at the trade table this season, and Kawhi now leads a terrific team towards what should be a successful playoff run.
Book finally has a team around him that can push for a title. He remains one of the greatest shooters in the game and his smooth offensive game remains pivotal to Washington success.
The Beard, the most successful player in the league to date, has continued to turn everything he touches to gold. Multiple championships, his scoring/playmaking remains elite as does the team he plays for.
Bam was a surprise, superstar acquisition for the Grizzlies, as they look to push closer to all-in. He has been a constant supply of rebounding and inside scoring for the Grizzlies and their hybrid team.
ALL-NSL THIRD TEAM:
* Stephen Curry (Denver) * Anthony Davis (Chicago) * Jaylen Brown (Memphis) * Jimmy Butler (Minnesota) * Deandre Ayton (Toronto)
Concluding the most positively-impactful players in the NSL for the 2022-2023 season, we have the Third Team! Future Hall-of-Famer Stephen Curry leads the team, despite a down season for him. AD, Jaylen Brown, Jimmy Buckets and Deandre Ayton complete the ALL-NSL selections.
Steph is a legend, and despite a down year, he has so much stock that he warrants a selection to the third team. Shooting was so 20-21, but despite the slump, he is one of the most revered, popular and impactful players.
Anthony Davis has lead the ghost-ship (with all due respect) Bulls to an above-expectations performance, clinging to hope in the play-in bracket. He is so big and aware on both ends that he impacts every possession.
Jimmy Butler is now on his third or fourth team this season. This was almost a death knell for his candidacy, but his body of work and defensive prowess warrants the selection.
Jaylen Brown gets rewarded for his great body of work for Memphis, one of the most winningest organisations in the league.
Deandre Ayton represents the Raptors, who are a gritty, strong team despite their recent struggles. He will likely win the rebounding crown. |
