NSL Insider - Division Preview: Atlanticby merencio, updated on Friday, January 22 2021, 01:55 am EST
Let’s unveil the new hot rides that look to take on the East, plus one honorable mention who purposefully is an also-ran. Brooklyn Nets - Breece This team has got one of the best players of the bubble last year in Jamal Murray and he´s got a 2k force on the boards in the form of Drummond. So balance is something that they have. Add in newcomer Deangelo Russell and you´ve got yourself a squad that can contend and beat anybody on a good day. As for the rest and surrounding pieces, I gotta say it´s solid. A collection of 3-6 players rated in the high 70s, plus a newcomer and 90 GM-point man Reggie Jackson and this team seems poised to surprise some people. Player to Watch: D´Angelo Russell – I´m anxious to see how the new engine and sliders trat this man, he seems ready for a big year. New York Knicks – Smokey Player to watch: Brandon Ingram – Let´s stop everything and acknowledge this guy is a baller, a 2k, NBA superstar for years to come. Has he even stopped evolving yet?
One of the winners if not THE winner of FA this year, already had a good team and it got even better and more well-rounded after the moves and the tinkering. In comes Harrell, the monster, and one of my favorite players to watch in the NBA, then comes Hayward who´s going for a career year and has a lubricator type of a game, then LeVert and Lauri into the fold alongside some key signings and this team is a collection of potential and present value. Oh and Paul George is still pretty good at basketball. They are a lock for top5 in the East, probably more tbh, barring injuries, of course. No Bryant and no Jrue anymore will hurt but they can overcome it. Philadelphia 76ers – Nenjabin Player to watch: Lebron James – Nobody is going to be looking anywhere else. This team is better than Sacramento´s #3 seed last year so what´s the limit here? 65+ win season? Boston Celtics - Toby The best rebuiliding team in the league. I guess they take the mantle away from badwolf because I like their pieces better, but it´s close. They won´t be making news except when acquiring value for the future, which they do in a diligent manner, perhaps a tad too much, sometimes? In any case, they´re right where they want to be, which is sucking for the future. They have a ton of picks, rising players and one knucklehead. They should be fun in 3 years. There are some possible 2k gems in there like the rising Lou Dort. Lou Dort! Such a fun name to say. Player to Watch: Jayson Tatum is his name, the guy seems to be still growing, literally and in his game. Has he even reached his ceiling? And will he be a Boston lifer or shopped for more future talent? My Projected standings for this divison by the end of the season: 1. 6ers 2. Raps 3. Nets 4. Knicks 5. Celts |
