Covid Woes & Recent Moves
Covid Woes
The NSL returned to action this week after a well earned 2 week break for the admins and for the league to spend the holiday period with their families. Covid-19 is running rampant through the NBA, where it seems that every second twitter notification is Woj or Shams tweeting about more players going into protocols. As a reflection of the NBA the Wolves were missing 7 players in week 8, all players who have contributed to the Wolves early success such as Dwight Howard, Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes to name a few.
We managed to play .500 ball in week 8, Timberwolves management was overheard in a meeting stating that "we are not a .500 team, we expect better than this regardless of who is on the court". We look forward to week 9 with some much needed help returning in Dwight, Pascal & Scottie however, we will be losing our leading scorer into protocols Khris Middleton. We are hopeful that some of our other players will step up in Khris's absence.

Recent Moves
Never satisfied with how the team is playing Gm Ethan was looking to acquire some scoring punch for the bench unit to make sure our foot was on the gas for the full 48 minutes.
Timberwolves receive: Bogdan Bogdanovic
Lakers Receive: Alec Burks, Lonnie Walker & Cash Considerations.

Bogdan currently ranks as the 64th best player in the NSL (however that is calculated). Bogey also ranks 11th in 3pt makes while being #5 in attempts albeit a little inefficient, we hope that he will be able to provide significant scoring punch from the bench and occasionally in the starting unit.
We say goodbye to Alec Burks who was acquired in the offseason, GM Ethan says "Alec has been the absolute pro for our ball club, doing everything that was asked and never had an issue doing so, we wish him the best for his NSL future"
We also part ways with young gun Lonnie Walker, GM Ethan says "For as long as i've been at the helm I have tried to acquire Lonnie to join the wolves, he will be missed and we hope that he pans out the way we think he can as a basketball player"
At this point in the season the wolves sit at 5th in the west with a 22-10 record, we look forward to seeing how far we can push this team over the remainder of the season and hope to get healthy soon! We will be vocal in our pursuit of becoming a home court advantage team out west this season.
