Indiana Free Agency Extravaganza

Indiana Free Agency Extravaganza

Indiana had quite the interesting free agency, moving on from star player Pascal Siakam to snagging Isaac Okoro, a long time coveted player of the Indiana front office, without even realizing he would be available. A lot of new names have arrived in Indiana over the last few days, and I think it’s time to introduce those new faces, starting with our new free agent signings.

Isaac Okoro - 6’5 SG/SF from Auburn, last season stats with GS: 10ppg, 3rpg, 2apg on 45/44/71 splits.

Okoro is a young and rugged 3 and D wing from Auburn University. At just 23 years old, Okoro had a bit of a bumpy start to his professional career, struggling to shoot the ball. However his defense is what he is best known for, and is a reason why the Indiana GM has had his eye on him for quite a while. When asked about the newest Pacer, the GM had this to say. “Okoro is someone we have liked for a long time, we tried to trade for him at this past year's trade deadline, and once again at the turn of the new fiscal year, both times obviously, to no avail. But when GS renounced him, it came to a shock to us, and realized this was our chance. We met with him and his agent, threw him our plan for Isaac, how he would be used, playing time, etc, and then let the cards play out. Then when the day came, he decided to sign with us. Isaac's shooting and defense will fit flowingly into what we are building here in Indy, and look forward to helping him grow.”

Orlando Robinson - 6’10 C from Fresno St, last season stats with CLE, SAC, POR: 2ppg, 3rpg, 0.4apg on 58/100/64 splits.

Robinson is a guy that has the potential to turn into a fine role player, he Unfortunately just hasn’t gotten to show it yet, playing for teams that have had tons of depth. Orlando is a flawless fit for this team. A good shot blocker and rebounder, he will have the chance to play alongside franchise star Wemby, and grizzled veteran Brook Lopez, hoping that some of their defensive nature will rub off on him. Like Okoro, Robinson is still young at only 24 years old, so he still has time to figure out himself and become a contributing player. When asked, the GM has this to say. “Robinson is someone that always intrigued us, he’s young and fits our timeline. We believe he can become a contributing piece in the rotation and can also learn a lot from our veteran players. We look forward to having him in Indy this season.”
