5 WEEKS IN
We've reached the quarter way mark for the young NSL season. The Minnesota Timberwolves are a very different roster than the one they ended their last campaign with, lets be real the only thing they were campaigning for were lottery odds.

We've reached the end of week 5 and the wolves sit at a respectable 13-7 which finds them in the 5th seed in a tough western conference. The wolves have had some nice wins along the way beating the likes of: New Orleans, Memphis and the Los Angeles Clippers. However, as the saying goes you learn more from your losses than your victories, the wolves have lost games too: San Antonio, Portland (x2), Grizzlies, Wizards, Raptors and more. So what does this tell us? We have a long way to go to being one of the top teams in the NSL, all of these losses have come against the best teams in the league, which has left Minnesota management scratching their head.
So where to from here for the Timberwolves? It could be as simple as being a year away and needing greater internal development of some of our players such as: LaMelo Ball, Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam. It could also be that they just aren't good enough to get over that hump of those top teams in the NSL, there's no shame in that either as there can only be one team that wins each year. So then the only other real avenue is trading. Trading has proven very tough in the young NSL season with a lot of teams seemingly being "all-in", we would expect this to open up as players start to become unblocked around week 9.

Is there a move to be made that can push the Wolves further up the Western Conference? Maybe.
Will the Wolves Front Office pursue such a deal? Most definitely.
When asked for a comment on the teams first 20 games GM Ethan said "we are very pleased with how the team is performing as a whole, the development of second year star LaMelo Ball has been a great boost to the team as well as the early form of Scottie Barnes. We look forward to continue building this roster out to make a run at a championship.... One Day"
