a new era in Detroit. The 5th NSL season will start with a new face
Detroit Pistons. After a pre accorded deal Detroit just landed Jalen
Green, Devin Vassell and Nick Richards, Detroit drafted 4 new rookies
to the roster.
Pick 4 Brandon Miller F
With Scoot, Amen gone, Detroit had no choice but to take the best player available and the most needed player for the team. Brandon Miller. Nothing could have worked out better than the second pick in the NBA draft available at the fourth pick.
Brandon Miller was the best freshman in college basketball by a comfortable margin, carrying a massive offensive burden for Alabama, the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Pick 5 Ausar Thompson
With Mitchell trade Detroit received number 5 in this draft from Lakers and gm Sheed was very happy to draft Ausar Thompson.
Ausar Thompson is a sky-walker; an elite above the rim player who is an absolute freak of an athlete. A long-armed 6-7, he makes the game look effortless.
Ausar is super quick off the floor and just bouncy as hell. He�s also a skilled ball-handler with elite burst to the rim. He�s a creative finisher who can score with either hand and can hang in the air for creative layups and showtime dunks.
Pick 45 Jalen Pickett
Pickett is an interesting guard prospect who plays an unusual but highly effective game. He�s got good size for a lead guard at 6-4 with a lot of strength.
Pickett does a lot of his scoring in the lane, using his size and strength to punish smaller defenders. In some ways his game reminds me of Andre Miller � as a guard who like to play with his back to the basket.
Pick 53 Jalen Wilson
Wilson is a big wing with broad shoulders, a versatile offensive game and solid fundamentals. After red-shirting for a year he�s having a big impact for the Jayhawks and looking the part of an NBA wing.
He�s
a capable outside shooter who rises up with a smooth and consistent
shooting motion. He projects as a good to very good NBA 3pt shooter,
although his FT shooting is a bit concerning (at least so far)
