Anfernee Simons was born on June 8, 1999, in Altamonte Springs, Florida. He was raised by his mother, Tameka Simons, who worked hard to provide for him and his younger brother. Growing up, Anfernee was a standout athlete in a variety of sports, including football and track and field. However, it was basketball that he was most passionate about.
Anfernee attended Edgewater High School in Orlando, where he quickly established himself as one of the top high school basketball players in the country. In his senior year, he averaged 23.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, earning him a spot in the prestigious McDonald's All-American Game.
After graduating from high school, Anfernee decided to forgo college and enter the NBA draft. He was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 24th overall pick in the 2018 draft. Anfernee had a slow start to his NBA career, playing limited minutes in his first season. However, he continued to work hard and improve his game, and in his second season, he emerged as a key player for the Trail Blazers, averaging 8.3 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.
Off the court, Anfernee is known for his laid-back and easy-going personality. He is a devoted family man and is very close to his mother and brother. In an interview with The Athletic, Anfernee spoke about the importance of family in his life, saying, "My family means everything to me. They're my support system. I wouldn't be where I am today without them."
