NSL Insider - Players That Exciteby pistolpk, updated on Thursday, February 20 2020, 03:12 am EST Atlanta
Hawks The Atlanta
Hawks are very excited and proud of Joel Embiid, Demar Derozan and Derrick Rose
for being named All-Stars in the inaugural season of the NSL! The player that
we are excited about for the next portion of the regular season has to be
Matisse Thybulle. We've had to rebuff multiple trade offers for him throughout
the season. He was a defensive dynamo in college and so far has shown the
defensive bulldog mentality that he displayed at Washington. The team is happy
to wait for his offensive game to catch up this season. We have plans for him
to be the defensive stopper on our bench to go next to Carmelo Anthony's
offense. The team has high hopes for him and we want to help him reach his
potential. Boston
Celtics Admin allocated:
Kevin Porter Jr. This kid can
seriously score, starting to get some serious minutes in the NBA, a player on
the rise. Brooklyn
Nets Name -
Jarrett Culver Why they
would be great: He has been
blowing up in the NSL, while jacking up more shots than a bar on King St. For
better and for worse. Boards,
assists and points; 5/7/14, 1/7/21, and 1/2/18 in his past 3 games. The young
rookie is on the charge and ready to prove himself. Exciting times for the no.5
pick. Charlotte
Hornets Nicolas
Claxton. Loving the
flashes he's shown in the limited NBA minutes. Springy athlete and long, dunks
everything and plays with fire, but the promising part is how he can switch and
defend the perimeter at 6'11". Not only defend, but absolutely smother.
Also digging his hand skill foundation too, that will be the x-factor of his
chances of success, should be fun to watch him grow. Chicago
Bulls The
development of Jordan Mcrae has been amazing as he has to be one of the best
bargains of the entire draft with the 422th pick, that's the 15th round! Mcrae has
turned into a realiable bucket getter in the NBA, which he always was but
injuries and lack if opportunity never allowed him to shine. Long live
the Orange Mamba! Cleveland
Cavaliers Admin Allocated:
Jarrett Allen At the price
the team payed for Allen in sending away former All-star LaMarcus Alridge, the
team is excited to see Allen do for the Cavs. Let’s see if he last more than 5
weeks on a roster. Dallas
Mavericks Kristaps
Porzingis. He truly is
a unicorn. A one-of-a-kind, elite bigman
that plays like a guard and shoots with deadly accuracy. What more could you ask for? Denver
Nuggets Admin Allocated:
Michael Porter Jnr. Absolutely
dominated the NSL Rising Stars USA & World Team game. The Denver Nuggets
are entering the MPJ-Era and it’s Terrifying Detroit
Pistons Admin Allocated: Kyrie Irving I would be
excited too, if he ever got on the court. With all this time on his hands, good
to see he is putting it to good use as the VP of the NBAPA Golden
State Warriors Admin Allocated:
Robert Covington The journey
man of the NSL, is now scoring games of 20+ for the Warriors. Since when did
that happen? Not just a glue man, a star. Houston
Rockets Juancho
Hernangomez - He went through a horrible shooting slump through the months of
December and January. Now he's finally hitting them, he's on a new team, and
he's finally getting starter minutes. Indiana
Pacers Malik
Beasley Really
excited now that he is getting a chance to get some playing time. Hoping he doesn’t demand too much money in
the offseason LA
Clippers Admin Allocated:
R.J Barrett In the nba,
Barrett hasn’t found a shot he hasn’t liked only shooting at 38%. In the NSL,
he is shooting at 48%, while draining 41% from deep. Who wouldn’t be excited
about this 2k version of R.J. LA Lakers Admin Allocated:
Russell Westbrook Its just
different having a superstar on my team, I am still excited. Memphis
Grizzlies Admin Allocated:
Tyler Herro Tyler is
still my hero. What a year he is having in the NBA, shooting over 39% from
deep, averaging 13 points off the bench. Miami
Heat I keep doing
google searches for updates on Aaron Gordon, he seriously has the athletic ability
and the skills, its always been the question, does he have the killer instinct?
In the last 6 games in the NBA, he has been the star he should be. He is a gun
in the NSL, currently ranked 31, which would put him as the best player on a
number of teams, just feel he is a few rating points off efficiency. Milwaukee
Bucks Admin Allocated:
Zion Williamson Only 2
players off limits at the Bucks, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Zion Williamson. Minnesota
T'wolves Admin Allocated:
Stephen Curry Stephen
Curry is the difference between Mitchell Robinson being worth more than a
number 1 pick and the wolves going on a run and making playoffs. The Wolves can’t
wait for their superstar to debut in the NSL> New
Orleans Pelicans Svi
Mykhailiuk now that I finally got him on my team, I like his potential to have
a really great end of the NBA season now the Pistons threw in the towel.
Already shooting 42% from deep on the season hopefully he keeps it up with more
opportunity. New York
Knicks De'Anthony
Melton: Very excited
to get a player with the potential of Melton on board for the future. There are
only 5 players in NBA history that have averaged 20+Points, 10+Rebounds,
8+Assists per 100 possessions: Grant Hill Magic
Johnson DE'ANTHONY
MELTON His game is
difficult to compare as he has a lot of attributes that compare to many
different guys. He has a higher rebounding rate than Ben Simmons, higher steal
rate than Jimmy Butler, and a higher assist rate than Donovan Mitchell. His year two
number's are on par with that of Jrue Holiday who is probably the best modern
day comparison for Melton. a 6'3 Combo Guard who plays like he is 6'6 and is
defensively orientated. If Melton
can continue this upward trend and turn into a Holiday level defender and 80%
of his offensive production then the Knicks are onto a winner. Search the stats for yourself, there are
other players who his stats compare to in his second year in the league one
being Kawhi Leonard. I do not for one second think he will every turn into the
Claw, but the pure numbers are very interesting to observe. Oklahoma
City Thunder Admin Allocated:
Devonte Graham Newly acquired
Devonte Graham has broken out big time in the NBA this season, just a question
of 2k and NSL catching up. Orlando
Magic Admin Allocated:
Donte DiVincenzo Donte
DiVincenzo has been a handy find in the NBA, earning serious minutes for a
title contender, his 2k rating has increased from 72 to 78 based on stella
play. Soo much energy. Philadelphia
76ers The player
I’m keen to see get a run as of now for the rest of the season is Louis King. The Pistons
signaled that they’ve given up this year in the NBA and so minutes should be
there for the growth of the youth. King has an NBA skillset and good size for a
wing, and I’d be keen to see how he grows down the stretch to earn himself a
full time contract. Everyone else on my team are all pretty much in the “know
what to expect” basket by now, and my team is more of the whole than any
individual, so it’s the little things that give me my interest going forward. Phoenix
Suns Duncan
Robinson. I watched
him a little and thought yeah he's alright. Managed to get him thrown into the
trade that saw us land Butler and Capela and tbh was mainly going to be used to
land a big... But then i delved some more. Undrafted after a 4 year college
career... What a mistake. Maybe that was the chip he needed to succeed as an
NBA player. He's an excellent 3 point shooter, moves so well and smart off the
ball, Is a solid facilitator out of the PnR(i was surprised when i found this
too) and has the motivation to improve and become a better defender. I'm all
aboard the Rob-Train now, This dude is great! Just a small
little shout out aswell to Marquese Chriss as he's taken the opportunity the
Warriors have given him and run with it. May actually be their starting centre
next season when they're healthy. Portland
Blazers I blew up my
entire team to get Kawhi Leonard. If he is as good as is he in real life, we
are in for a good time. However, 2k is a fickle beast, so there's plenty of
risk involved here. He is
arguably the best player in the NBA and is just 28 years of age. His ratings
are unbelievably good. Just hope the fit is perfect, too. It's just
really exciting to acquire someone who should typically be unattainable. #Klaw Sacramento
Kings Bledsoe Started the season running Lebron/Jrue and the idea was defensive guard with size who could run the offence next to Lebron... That turned into pure shooter from range to open up the lanes for Lebron in CJ. Full 360 and CJ is bounced for Eric Bledsoe... Another undersized guard relegated to the two who isn’t known for his perimeter scoring but brings what the original vision was ever since the beginning. What’s that about every single guy playing next to Lebron getting better? 20/4/5 averages since coming over with splits of 47/38/81 (hitting nearly two triples a game). The Kings finally have their secondary play maker who can shut down anyone on the other side and attacks the rim, scoring in the paint just like his 6’9 running mate. The Kings are second in the league in points per game, 5th in threes made, 5th in assists and 4th in FTM while leading the league in pace for the 6th best offence in the league and 9th best D hitting all the emphasis points I wanted in making these latest deals. Took a big risk trading for him and held my breath the first few weeks chastising myself every bad stretch, every missed wide open three and every slight dig taken at perhaps going “to far” with the player movement. Haven’t had the balls yet to relinquish the keys from Lebron but I know the option is there. San
Antonio Spurs Admin Allocated:
An untradeable player This untradeable
player will never be traded while I am GM. I am so excited about him being on
my side. Ok, so Bradley
Beal is the closest thing to untradeable at the Spurs. Toronto
Raptors Obvious One,
But Dame. Is he the
best player in the NBA? Is he better than Curry? Is he going to get bumped up to
mid 90's overall with the upper elite? Will he lead The Raptors to Glory? The
answer to all these questions is Yes! Utah Jazz Admin Allocated:
Terence Davis Terence
Davis is going to be the next superstar. Dwight Howard was a bargain. Washington
Wizards Admin Allocated:
Devin Booker I am excited
that Devin Booker is now an NBA All-Star. |
