NSL Insider - NSL Premium: Scoring Title Watchby gc6, updated on Tuesday, February 11 2020, 01:56 am EST So this
season has flown by so far and we are rapidly approaching the last quarter of
the regular season, so now seems like the perfect time to take a look at the
race for the scoring title in the NSL. This list
will just be going off points per game average at this stage, so dont come at
me if someone has played less or more games. (minimum of 33 games played) So as my
username is gc6 lets go through the top 6 leader board and give them all a
little bit of a write up on each. So lets see who is in the running for the
inaugural Wilt Chamberlain trophy. Current
Leader: Giannis
Antetokounmpo Los Angeles Clippers
- 37.3 Points Per Game No real
surprise who stands at the top of the scoring list at the moment, the Greek
Freak has had some monster stat lines this season already. His highest score
for the season was a 65 piece against his ultimate rivals in the Lakers, where
he shot 26-40 from the field and also managed
to grab 19 rebounds and have 9 assists. Of course the clippers won that game as
well. You wouldn't of thought he even had a bad game with that sort of average,
but he did put up one egg against the Timberwolves early on where he only
scored in single figures (8 points to be exact) Really tough to see
anyone catching him, but anything can happen. Second : Lebron James Sacremento Kings 33.3 Lebron
James has the whole future of the greater Sacramento area on his shoulders
after the infamous 3 firsts for 2 trade. But for the time being he is living up
to expectations and not showing any signs of slowing down for the kings. Hes
been getting his buckets all over the court too, as Klemm hasn't been afraid to
play him in different positions. His highest score for the year is a 52 point outburst
against the pesky Wizards where he shot 21-31 from the field. Will be a tough
ask for him to shoulder an even bigger load than he is now to catch Giannis,
but if anyone can its Lebron. Third : Russell Westbrook Los Angeles Lakers 33.0 The
international man of mystery called Greenmig has been mostly unseen and
unheard, but you cant argue with his methods because the Lakers are rolling on
the back of Russell Westbrook. Only a smidgen behind Lebron for the number 2
spot and miles in front of 4th, you'd think the top 3 wont change going
forward. Westbrooks highest score for the season was a big 62 point performance
against the Houston rockets in week 9 where he shot 25-40 from the floor. Fourth : Anthony Davis Chicago Bulls 29.8 Merencio
adds a bit of Brazilian flair to the list with his star Power Forward in
Anthony Davis, and you'd be hard pressed to find many better players to build
an offence around. The bulls currently lead the east so they were always going
to have a representative on this list. After a bit of a slow start to the season,
Davis has been on a tear recently with a few 40 plus point games the last few
weeks and season high of 46 against the tanking Boston Celtics. Fifth : Paul George
Cleveland Cavaliers 29.5 Smart
Trading by the Cavs GM if points per game are your thing, because Paul George
is absolutley rocking it in the worst place in America ( just ask Joakim Noah).
He's got a handy crew behind him, but there was no doubt who the big dog was in
town since he came over via the Spurs. He has missed a few games through injury
but he still has a season high 46 point game explosion against the Golden State
Warriors. Sixth : Damian Lillard
Toronto Raptors 28.7 Dame Dolla could be the best
player in the nba right now, so it is no shock to anyone that lillard is also
filling it up in the NSL. Jesse has waived his magic wand on the rest of the
team as well, because Dame has lead the raptors to 21 wins out of the last 25
games with his scoring punch (certainly not with his defense). His highest score
for the season is just 42, which he has hit a couple of times now, which just
goes to show how consistant he has been for the Raptors. The best
of the rest: Seventh : James Harden Portland
Trail Blazers 28.2 No doubt
joel will be annoyed that i made the cut off at only the top 6, but yea maybe i
did do it on purpose cause he has 2 of the next 4 players on his team. Eighth : Kemba Walker Brooklyn Nets 27.5 Ninth : Kawhi Leonard Portland Trail Blazers 27.3 Tenth : Devin Booker
Washington Wizards 27.0 And after his recent All Star
snub GM joshua probably wont even be able to read this after throwing his
computer out the window. Will be
interesting to see how much this list changes at the end of the season, but as
for now we can all take a small breather on the off week, and enjoy the all
star activities that are just around the corner! |
