NSL Insider - PP: Dallas V LACby gc6, updated on Thursday, June 17 2021, 04:14 am EST Here we go! Playoff NSL Basketball is happening after a hard fought season from some teams, and a inconvenience from some other teams that are waiting for the draft to roll around. Two polarizing figures in the NSL are going head to head in this one. The Dallas Mavericks lead by lets trade but not really LJ up against Andrew's spend 2 minutes setting the lineup and then see you next week Clippers. Both teams had great seasons winning 54 and 53 games respectively, which is good enough for the 4th and 5th seed. Also both teams are lead by genuine real life and 2k superstars who can play every position on the court. There is bound to be a few nervous gm's watching this one closely, cause you wouldn't want to come up against Durant or Giannis in a 7 game series, no matter how good your team is. Lets go through some other notable players as well. I hesitate to try and name the full line ups for a play off series cause im sure that teams will be throwing curve balls left right and center to try and catch their opponent off guard to snatch a few wins. But here are the big dogs for either side. Dallas: Kevin Durant Hopefully everyone is tuning into the Nets Bucks games that are going on at the moment. Because thats the sort of stuff im expecting for Kevin Durant 2k edition. After a video game numbers type of game in game 5, thats the stat line we could be seeing against the clippers for the whole series. 49 points 17 rebounds and 10 assists average doesn't seem that outrageous for the series to me. Fingers crossed he stays healthy after everyone around him on the real life nets are dropping like flies. Clippers: Giannis Antetokounmpo The Greek Freak is just built for this. He is unstoppable in the 2k world and will continue to be a top 2 or 3 player in the game for the next decade most likely. Super athletic and long, doesnt even matter that he cant shoot a lick cause he can just bulldoze he way to 50 pints a game, which is what we are probably going to see from him in this series as well. I also think he could be in line to play every minute of every game with some creative minutes distribution. This is definatley going to be a head to head with durant. Whose going to come out on top? Dallas: Kristaps Porzingis Another 2k superstar, but one whose real life value has plummeted. Not that it matters atm anyway, but its relevant cause hes on the trade block at the moment apparently. He could be a big factor in dallas winning this one though, cause hes just such a massive unit standing at 7 foot 3 and can shoot the lights out. Will the clips be able to contain him? Maybe LJ throws him at shooting guard for a laugh? could happen though, and a big playoff performance from zinger could mean that he stays put in Dallas next season, or even a title this season... Clippers: Domantas Sabonis The big man from the clippers is going to have to do some heavy lifting in this one to get his team over the lineup. Lucky for Andrew though is that i think Sabonis is up to it. Another one of those big men that could be thrown around the positions a bit to try and get something going. Not the best defender by any means , but he is good enough on the other side of the ball to give the mavericks a bit of a headache. Other important stuff: The Keys to winning for both teams are the role players around both their star players. The Mavericks need their role players to be better, and they should because they are more talented. Even though they are down a great player in Victor Oladipo, who is out for the entire playoffs with an injury. Fred Vanvleet can hit long range shots and plays some good help defense, Schroeder is a scoring weapon capable of going off at any moment, and Kelly Oubre is really handsome. As for the clippers They have some great young talent as well, but they just might be a year off from really being able to swing a playoff game around. Collin sexton has made great strides this season and is a definite contributor to helping the clips get some wins this season, and the same can certainly be said for RJ Barrett. Ricky Rubio and Mo Wagner have also been solid. All four of those guys can make a bit of an impact but i just think that Dallas other guys can do the same, just a little bit better. That brings us to the winner of the series. I think this one is going to go the distance. Really hard to pick when you have 2 superstars leading the charge who can win the game off their own back. Im going with Dallas here though to win the series 4-3 over the Clips. Im sure this one will have a lot of different predictions though, cause it really is that close. |
