How far would you go for Love?
Meatloaf said it best, I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That), but what wouldn’t you do? Utah has turned the page, it is clear a new era is upon the franchise and it starts and finishes at the top with the hiring of the new first year GM. The old system just did not feel right, the team is not gelling, the fans are not excited. That is all about to change, I’d do anything for Love, and I’d do anything for this franchise.
After spending weeks on the pine, a once loved and sought after All Star is on the cusp of returning, and from all sources feeling invigorated and full of juice. This may not be enough to keep all this Love in Utah though, as management is looking to shuffle things up and end the romance between this UCLA product and Salt Lake City. But what is the price for Love you must be asking?
With few teams with cap space, the old Californian native may be looking to return home. If rumour holds true, there may be some interest bubbling to keep Love in the west. It will all come down to those first few weeks of his return, so the people who matter most can see for themselves how much Love he has left for the game. The Toronto Raptors have expressed their undenying support for the 6’10” stretch forward, openly coming out to say ‘We love Love’, it is as simple as that.
Coach Quin Snyder has openly backed the current administration and has stated that the right thing to do is send some Love elsewhere. It is unknown what the price is for Love, how do you value a thing like that? Maybe a first or two will make you feel warm inside, maybe some younger talent and a plethora of seconds will be enough to secure that beautiful feeling.
All management can do now is to wait and see just how much damage he inflicts upon his return, we imagine a lot of hearts will be broken. The five time all-star may be on the way out, but God it has been a nice feeling to experience Love for a little while at least.
