Chinese Whispers...

It’s nothing new for the Kings front office to be throwing around the names of any given player in loose trade talks with whoever will listen. You know it, I know it, Lebron signs off on it. It’s the natural Sacramento way of life since the beginning of time and you’d be wise to not question it.

no one is safe if it means a fleeting taste of glory for even a split second before inevitably being snatched away from those much more patient and clinical. That sweet taste though is what drives GM Klemmelo day in day out as he strives to be known not as the laughing stock of the NSL but a legit GM with a vision to success blah blah blah...

CJ has been one that has a few ears pricked around the league in excitement, a huge premium paid for him early on which has paid dividends and seen the Kings rise the ranks out West. The Kings are 23-13 since he joined and he is among the leagues best scoring from the perimeter. So why would they want to move on from him? I’m just a humble blog boy who doesn’t have a clue but I would imagine its because the Kings don’t really strike me as being a three point shooting team; despite the array of elite shooters in KCP, Bjlecia, Matthews, Ersan etc on the roster. Their strength is and should always be points in the paint and from the line as is the way when you have a Lebron led offence. To often the Kings find themselves predictable and inconsistent down the stretch against the top tier teams they aim to prove to be a part of and were once a formidable defensive team at least on paper with guys like Whiteside/Ibaka/Bog/Ariza/Aminu coming and going have perhaps now leant to far towards the offensive end.

The Kings are third in the league in PPG at 108.7 and have the 6th best ranked offence with a point differential of +5.17 only bested by the Clips, Suns, Portland, Bulls, Hawks and Miami... The 6 best teams in the league, go figure. Perhaps a steadying move to bolster the Defence without losing to much on the other end might see them properly establish themselves within that group of aforementioned franchises... The word on the street is talks are happening and I wouldn’t be surprised if a big deal is done within the next couple of days...
