SIT DOWN, BE HUMBLE…KNICKS PLAYERS EMBRACE QUOTE FROM 5 YEAR OLD

Mountain View The New York Knicks hot start to the regular season has been built on star power, size, and most importantly selfless basketball. The latter being a key focus of Coach Mike Brown and GM Smokey.

The Knicks have lit up the early parts of the NSL season with a blistering 13-3 record, establishing themselves as a balanced and dangerous team. Rebuilding and searching for an identity a year ago has quickly become a well-oiled machine fuelled by Star leadership, an interior presence and a collection of role players who embrace the challenge of just doing their job.

Kevin Durant’s arrival in New York has been transformative. A big key to the success of the Knicks this season, he continues to redefine longevity and efficiency, providing the Knicks with a go-to scorer who elevates the offence in crunch time.

Josh Giddey, Durant’s running partner, has become a steady hand in the offensive system to date. His court vision and pass-first mentality have provided the Knicks with a facilitator that is able to read the pick and rolls, with a commitment to pushing the pace and involving teammates.

Outside of Durant and Giddey. The Knicks are showing that sticking to your role is most important when it comes to team success. A team with championship aspirations needs role players who understand their responsibility.

McDaniels, a defensive Swiss army knife guarding multiple positions, while knocking down timely threes.

Tyson, a second-year player who has poise and a willingness to compete on both ends when called upon.

Their contribution to the team don’t always show up in the box scores, but they will continue to fill essential gaps, bring energy and provide defensive versatility that allows the team to matchup up well against any opponent.

The Knicks are proving that their record is no fluke. The team has the perfect mix of a star who leads, a big man rotation who can dominate and role players who execute to perfection.

The key for Mike Brown and Smokey, stay humble. The team know their strengths and weaknesses and a head down bum up mentality is front of mind. The team don’t want to just be the early-season story, they want to be a legitimate contender who is providing the fans what they deserve at the pointy end of the season.
