Sometimes in
this league there are good times and there are bad times. Ups and downs, back
and forths. For the 76ers this year it’s been a litany of injuries like a
rotating door as the team tries to keep up with the rest of the league, while
having one of the deeper rosters going round, but struggling to put their best
foot forward all the while. So, they made some trades.
The depth
took a hit as they sent out Kristaps Porzingis whom they had ridden through his
early season injury cloud, and Precious Achiuwa, same goes. They sent out
Marcus Smart whom was set to miss 2 weeks…6 weeks ago. Robert Williams who
always has some niggle and Kevin Huerter whom might have been one of the few
healthy spots on the 76ers roster. They brought in the big names of Paul George
and Dejounte Murray, set to pair with Jalen Green and Draymond Green and form a
really solid 2way line up. But, again, the injury bug.
The 1st week
the players are eligible to play, Paul George misses, but also Jorda Clarkson,
Steven Adams and Ryan Dunn, on top of Draymond Green who was already shelved.
The line up relying on rookies and 2ways to be complete for week 10. But,
surely, after that…
Disaster.
Dejounte Murray goes down with an Achilles injury and his season is over. He’ll
get one week to make all the 76ers fans salivate a bit before he will be off
until next year sometime.
They turn now
to Reggie Jackson and Jaden Springer to man the Point Guard spot, as quietly a
few weeks ago, ROTY candidate Ajay Mitchell also went down with a 3 month
injury. So the team is left scrambling to pick up the pieces. Does PG13 return
next week? Dunn will, Clarkson probable. Adams yes. Draymond? Who’s the next
contestant on the 76er is injured!
