It's A Digital World
The tune all season has been the same. It's all about dread around these parts. The city of Dallas has not been this distraught about one of their teams since...well, almost every football season with the Cowboys, those heartbreakers. But, the Mavericks have been able to crack that very core of the city and its fanbase. A far worse start than last season, the Mavericks hover around the basement dwellers, even BELOW those teams knowingly tanking this season! It is not a site to behold. This team is downright awful. And, its general manager is all to blame. Careless and thoughtless moves made with the "NBA" mentality in mind and not the all-to-important "2K" mentality in mind. This will be one of those "mulligan" seasons, but one that came with a cost - not owning their own pick.
Smart moves in video games are a far cry from moves made in real life. Managing a video game team with glitch players etc would not translate to the real NBA. And vice versa. There is an art to the 2K mentality, knowing what players to go after, hours and hours of simming and gameplay knowledge with settings included and the time to actually lay down a plan and execute as well as having more of the camaraderie with the fellas to make bold moves....these are all key! Just learning this the hard way is the new motto for LJ Maverick nowadays.
Talks surrounding improving big man, Christian Wood, have heated up during the holiday break. As normal, the championship contenders are knocking heavily at the door for his services. It is unclear if Dallas will part with him now that rumors have come out in talks of an extension for him. Another trade talk guy, Bobby Portis, has been taken off the trade block as his play has piqued LJ Maverick's interest in keeping him past this season. But, again, do we ever really know?
