Where Are YOU Going?

The talks are again heating up around the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.  This time more prominent and bigger names (as if they have many of which to speak) are being discussed by the NSL Dallas Mavericks.  This has been the literal MO of General manager, LJ Maverick, for ages.  But, this season fairs no different.  And, as bad as the squad is currently, with the parity at the bottom of the Western Conference, the Mavericks have an outside shot at a glimmer of hope for a playoff spot in the NSL play-in tourney.

We start with the three bigger names in Dallas:  Christian Wood, Gordon Hayward and Bobby Portis.  Now, while the maverick of a general manager has gone on record with many teams about Portis' unlikely departure, he will not close any books until a suitable deal is made for his squad and the city of Dallas.  The main talks are centered around Wood and Hayward.  You will note, that all suitors thus far have been playoff contenders from both conferences, but the main ones have been the yearly dominant bunch.  A guy like Christian Wood can definitely boost a team's title aspirations as would Hayward.  The easier, straight forward get would be Wood.  While being the best player on the team, he is an unrestricted free agent this summer.  It's a give and take scenario for his services.  One one hand, you have a lethal scoring big who is high rated in 2K sense.  On the other, you take your chance at a title with him and see if you want to re-sign him.  We all need to be honest.  He will be traded to some team that has the means to do both.  Let us not kid ourselves.  So, those teams know his price.  As for Hayward, you get a lethal shooter with an "ok" contract relatively speaking that will miss a few games for you.  The prices are set, boys.  Come and join in on the trade talks.
