To Beal, or not to Beal...
HOLY SMOKES!
Someone of talent (and lots of it) has finally recognised that Salt Lake is the place to be. A team that was void of any talent barring some old veterans 2 years ago, have turned into a team full of first round picks and some promising young stars. Of course some high end talent would want to jump ship and venture out West to the pristine waters of Utah.
Adding Beal to the fold on FA day was a huge coup. It did not feel Beal... I mean real... or possible for that matter. A genuine stab in the dark after realising all other targets did not find Utah as attractive, brought home the bacon.
Now that Beal has settled in around the team and the facilities, we will see if he made the right move to come on board, or he might decide that it was too early for such talent to grace our presence. Luckily for Beal, he has another 7 weeks to either sway management or consider moving on to another team better placed to compete.
With a number of teams putting their hat in the ring already for Beal's services, it will be an interesting approach to gauge which offer holds the most value for the team, and which will accelerate the rebuild that is currently well and truly on track and ticking boxes.
Week 9 feels like an eternity away but management would love to have things locked in a couple of weeks before the trade period can open up. What would the NSL be if not for an impulsive and anticipated trade period. It seems all but inevitable that there will be some big trades come week 9. We all know that Klemm wont be able to keep it in his pants for long.
For now, if you are interesting in swaying Beal to join your team, you better start chatting with the GM to make sure your voice is heard.
It feels good seeing the NSL back in action and games coming in hot. Looking forward to another great year.
