NSL Insider - Premium: Division Winners 2024by Nels, updated on Tuesday, May 07 2024, 06:54 pm EST Division Winners 2024 Another regular season is in the books with some new faces
gracing the top spot of a number of different divisions. The notoriously
competitive Northwest Division has once against proved the hardest to play in, while
the bottom spot has once again been held by the incredibly weak Pacific.
Coincidentally the team with the league’s best record terrorised the weakest
Division while the Atlantic proved to be one on the rise. Here’s a breakdown of
the winners of each division and a snapshot at where each division finished in
comparison to one another. Atlantic Division Winner- Philadelphia 76ers Division Wins- 226 Rank- 2nd The Atlantic Division has put the league on notice as one to
watch for the future. Sitting second in total wins, the division is filled with
premier teams. Philly, Boston, Toronto, Brooklyn and New York all found a spot
in this year’s playoffs and 4 of the 5 teams finished above .500. GM Nenjamin
prevailed, assembling a terrific team for this engine. His 76ers took out 3rd
in the East on the way to their maiden division crown. There’s a great chance
that the Eastern Conference champ could come from the Atlantic with Boston, New
York and Philly all looking formidable as the playoffs approach. Congratulations to Nenjamin for edging
out GM Toby by 2 wins to take out the Atlantic. Central Division Winner- Milwaukee Bucks Division Wins- 202 Rank- 4th The Central division finished 4th overall in
total wins and proved to be a little top heavy. 2 teams made the playoffs, the
Bucks and Cavs, while one team talked about making playoffs but fell short
through the Play-In tournament (Indiana). The Bulls and Pistons let the rest of
the Central division down with poor seasons by their own standards and should
be on the way back up by next season. The Bucks looked all but certain to win
this division from the get-go and could’ve won the East but for a downturn of
form over the last 5 weeks. The Bucks are a massive chance to win the East this
year and GM Daz should be proud of a
sensational season both at the controls of his team and the league. Well done. Southeast Division Winner- Washington Wizards Division Wins- 169 Rank 5th The Southeast division has been a one-horse race for a
couple of years now as the Washington Wizards have staked their claim at the
top of the division and the Eastern Conference. The Wizards have a low-key
exciting redemption arc going on and seem to be the front runner to win the
Conference this post-season. Charlotte and Miami struggled with injuries this
season while Atlanta and Orlando boarded the tank, which ultimately left this
conference amongst the weakest overall. Congratulations
to GM Joshua on successfully defending the Division title. Southwest Division Winner- San Antonio Spurs Division Wins- 221 Rank- 3rd The Southwest one again lived up to its reputation as one of
the stronger divisions in the league finishing with 3rd overall in
total wins. The Spurs took it out once again but a late charge from the
new-look Pelicans made things interesting for a short while. The Southwest is
in an interesting position with 4 quality teams with the Mavs going about their
business in the second year of their rebuild.
Northwest Division Winner- Minnesota Timberwolves Division Wins- 261 Rank- 1st If there was a division that was a bloody battlefield it’s
the Northwest. The Division of Doom. Finishing first overall in total wins by nearly
40 wins (insane), the Northwest had no weakness until the Blazers hit reboot at
the trade deadline. Every team was in the mix up until that point and every
team finished above .500. GM Ethan edged out the up and coming Jazz, the
Nuggets and OKC while on his way to the 3rd best record in the NSL. Congratulations to Jimmy Buckets, A.D and
Cornhill. Pacific Division Winner- LA Lakers Division Wins- 151 Rank- 6th The LA Lakers came, saw and conquered this NSL regular
season, winning everything that’s possible to win up until this point. GM
Justin put his money where his mouth is, pushing the chips in and joining the
rat race in the quest for a debut title. His move has been seamless and the
wins have come in bunches against a division filled with sub .500 teams. The
Kings and Suns attempted to push for play-in success but adversity proved too
much this season. For the Lakers, winning the Pacific division in comparison to
taking out the Western Conference is like a professional athlete getting a
participation award at junior level, however Justin will enjoy adding another
trophy to the cabinet as his contending years begin. Congratulations to the Lakers on a terrific regular season. Congratulations to all division winners for their focus,
drive and durability throughout the regular season and good luck to all in the
post season. |
