NSL Insider - Premium: PPG Leaders

by gc6, updated on Monday, April 26 2021, 04:49 am EST

So this season has been going way to quick, can't believe the trade deadline is only around the corner! so to keep the excitement going, now seems like the perfect time to take a look at the race for the scoring title in the NSL.

This list will just be going off points per game average cause thats all that anyone ever looks at anyway. So Kevin Durant is very lucky to be included in this list only having played 23 games so far at the time of writing, him and CJ McCollum is the only other player in the top 10 of scoring who has played the same or fewer games. Some truly ridiculous numbers being put up though, so lets get into it.

Current Leader:
Chef Curry DEN PG 43 Games     37.5 minutes per game 45.2 points per game
Not really a surprise at the top of the leader board if youve been paying attention to the 2k side of things, Curry absolutely rocks at this. He has doing this without the other splash brother though which isnt ideal from a team perspective, but as far as personal stats go it couldn't be travelling any better. Cant really call him a glitch player either, cause he is doing the exact same thing in the NBA as well. Don't see anyone catching him either seeing as he is so far ahead, so we may as well start inscribing his name on the scoring trophy now.

Damian Lillard SA PG 50 Games  33 minutes per game 38.7 points per game
I got a shoe deal. A deal with my team. So that was just kind of another flex. It was simple. All of them ain’t that deep. But if somebody is here, they might say, “What happened now?” But it’s really simple. That’s just another flex.
NSL Superstar and Rap Superstar? hard to believe this guy has been traded so many times in the league seeing as all he does is score. Dominating for his new home in San Antonio.

Kevin Durant Dal PF 23 games   30.8 minutes per game 36.2 points per game
Battling through various injuries all year, Kevin Durant has played in just 2 of the mavs 57 games so far this season. His most recent issue a thigh contusion (whatever that is) that he suffered a week or so ago has just shown us that he will be held out for anything, no matter how minor it could possibly be.
Based on the recent injury update though he could be back again soon, and he will be fit and firing when it matters anyway, and thats the playoffs.

Kyrie Irving Det PG 47 games    33.3 minutes per game 35.9 points per game
i think i said this last time i did the points leaders write up but its still relevant. Kyrie is a really strange guy but he can really play basketball. Sheeds got him cooking so its no surprise to see the pistons leading the entire eastern conferance at the time of writing. Might get shut down with some minor "injuries" as we get closer to playoffs though, but it wont matter cause the pistons are already locked in.

Paul George              Tor            SF             43 games     35.5 minutes per game          35.3 points per game
The Toronto raptors are one of the hottest teams in NSL basketball right now and Paul George is one of the reasons why. Im the other reason because i like to pump them up whenever i get a chance.  Ahead of the season George vowed to return to his MVP level self and it looks like he has. He wasn't anywhere near the top of the list last time i did the points leaders write up, and now hes in the top 5. Timing is everything and right now the Raptors are on course to make their presence felt in the post season seeing as Paul George has got his swagger back.

ill crowbar one more in, just in case Andrew reads this, cause i havent heard from him in ages.
Giannis Antetokounmpo LAC PF 52 games  36.2 minutes per game 34.9 points per game
Another big season incoming for the greek freak, but the numbers arent as impressive as we are used too for the 2k and real lif super star. The move to centre this week probably didn't help either but he could literally play positions 1 to 5 so what would i know. Maybe its just this engine which has seen a decrease in his productivity or maybe just a few minor tweaks from the clippers gm and we could be seeing the 60 point 20 rebound games we all know and love.

Thats it from me and ill see you in a few more weeks as we get closer to the playoffs to see who is going to take home the silverware *cough Steph Curry *cough
