Rookie Review
Rookie Review
With the ultimately disappointing for the Wizards, we will have a look last a brighter story and review how their rookies went
Desmond Bane
Bane was the highest draft pick for the Wizards last at pick 21 last season and he outperformed that draft spot and improved at an exciting rate throughout the season. Coming as a player with an elite attribute in 3 point shooting and it was relieving to see it translating straight away at 41 percent 3 point shooting percentage for the season. The team believes in his potential as he got the starting nod for 20 games this season averaging 7.3 points, 2.6 assists and 2.1 rebounds, showcasing his all round skills and ability to fill whatever gap the team needs and also playing strong D throughout, We wouldn't be surprised to Desmond get plenty more starts in the near and long term with Washington.
Xavier Tillman
The Wizards other first round pick from last season at pick 29, Tillman was someone the scouting team wanted and were ecstatic when he fell into into their lap. A very mature player, he was touted to be able to play straight away whilst still holding onto some growth potential showing slow growth in extending his range to the 3 point line. In his 12 starts for the Wizards Tillman showed his workmanlike attitude with 8.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. His nose for the ball really shoes throughout the season and it was something GM Joshua always liked about Tillman. With rumours swirling GM Joshua will be letting Theis walk, expect Tillman to have a bigger chance to prove his worth next season.
Malachi Flynn
A player the Wizards picked in the hope he would become a 6th man type scorer and steady hand off there bench. Flynn ultimately has what could be described as a development year, learning the ropes and slowly figuring it out on the court. The wizards were excited by his growth throughout the season and some may expect a jump in minutes during his second season with the wizards if he continues on his current growth trajectory.
Killian Tillie
Tillie used this year to recover from injuries and work on his body. We expect some valuable minutes from him next season.
