The Trade

Outgoing: T.J Warren, Dean Wade and 10gms

Incoming: Daniel Theis, Jae Crowder, Orlando Magic 2022 second round pick, Portland Trail Blazers 2025 second round pick and Orlando Magic 2025 second round pick.

The Wizards organisation would like to begin by thanking the outgoing players for their contributions, not only on the court but in the Washington community. They have been nothing besides outstanding citizens and we wish them nothing but the best in Boston and beyond.

This deal took much longer than usual to make a decision on for GM Joshua as he felt Warren was undervalued in the league but in the end decided he needed to do what was best to win now and chase the elusive title while he has a backcourt thats so talented.

Jae Crowder is the perfect wing next to Booker and dame, providing hard nosed perimeter defines with good size to being able to handle all wings plus a reliable 3 point shot which is good because he will get a lot of open shot created for him and he will just need to knock them down. On a very reasonable contract and a great locker room guy, Coach Brooks is excited to have a weapon like him in his arsenal.

Daniel Theis was the other addition in the deal and he couldn’t have come soon enough. With Larry Nance set to miss at least a month through injury, the power forward spot was up for grabs for one of the talented upstarts coming through the Wizards ranks but they will have a real fight on their hands to outdo Their. A floor spacing, good rebounding and defensive minded power forward is rare and the Wizards now have two of them.

These additions will help us climb up the eastern conference ladder and hold us in good stead for playoff time when we need the defence the most. Are there more moves in the works? Probably. Is this a team that wants to contend? Definitely.
