NSL Insider - Premium: NSL Hot Takesby jmac, updated on Thursday, February 16 2023, 07:38 am EST Parity has never been more present in the NSL Trading didnt die; strangely, is it a better market, and experience, post-rule change?
There
were some booming voices spreading messages of doom about the new
trading restrictions, that this change was abrupt, reactive and against
the spirit of a fantasy league. However, one could argue that trading
hasnt suffered at all. In fact, it could be the case that the craft of
negotiating, trading has never been more important and interesting to
the GM-masses. The first 9 weeks of the season crawl along but since the
trade-floodgates opened, theres serious momentum.
The Phoenix Suns will make the NSL Playoffs
Well
would you look at that?! The dead-and-buried Suns are climbing out of
the crypt and now genuinely have a path to the play-in tournament. A
languishing middle-rung of the Western Conference (and Eastern
conference, too, for that matter) is meaning teams are never truly out
of the playoff hunt (unless you are Utah or Lakers). The system works!
Phoenix has made another big trade to bring Ingram in to complete what
is a very tall and versatile lineup. Where to next? And with no picks
left to move, what is their ceiling? Speaking to one of the managers, who was quoted as saying Its a terribly confusing dynamic, this relationship; I adore the man, but at the same time, I cant stand his behaviour and I want to beat his team so bad. Hes a piece of shit with no morals or limits to his debauchery. I will see him at my sons christening but it will be chilly. He's not getting any of the fucking food. Jmac was unavailable for comment. Cavaliers will finish atop of the Eastern Conference It was an outlandish speculation at the time, but it hasnt aged all that badly since some idiot proclaimed they have what it takes to take the East. Since then, they have continued to round out their bench and have made a significant upgrade to their starters. Jimmy Buckets Butler is now the top dawg in Cleveland. Butler, one of the most impactful players in the league, will certainly raise the Cavaliers' ceiling and aspirations. The top three draft picks will be drafted using other teams picks Okay, so that is a very clunky sentence. Forgive me; I am rattled by the character-assassination attempts that have bombarded me for the last few days in the wake of mid-80s big-gate. The attempted meaning was this the three most prized picks in the 2023 draft will go to teams who hold a draft pick from another team. The Jazz and Lakers have multiple picks in the bottom ten, as of current standings, with the two teams looming as future-powerhouses in the league. Of the bottom ten teams based on record, only three own their own picks. Some teams are going to be very, very happy and very, very sad come draft day. |
