Who You Got?

What does everyone have planned for the off-season?  Imagine if you could be a fly on the wall of some of the war rooms within the NSL!  To take a peak at what the mindset is going forward for each team.  Who are they after in the NSL Draft?  Who are they covetting in free agency?  Is it a time to rebuild and blow up the team, or is it time to gain more assets?  Are they in salary cap limbo?   These are some questions undoubtedly going through some general managers' mind as we near the end of another amazing year for the NSL.  In Dallas, this is a fact!

Scouting players has always been a fascination for Dallas Mavericks general manager, LJ Maverick, since he was a toddler (no, really).  He can remember sitting with his father watching games, NBA, NFL, MLB.  But, the most interest always came in the form of the amateurs.  The college ranked players.  The unknowns for their time.

In the case foe this year's NSL off-season, there seems to be a consensus Big Four coming out of the NCAAs.  Some would argue you could add a fifth.  We won't go in depth for the four-to-five but merely mention them to get acquainted.  We will leave the in-depth stuff to those that write the Insider articles, although a podcast for the NBA Draft night may be coming out from the Mavericks general manager.

Out top pick this year would have to be Jordan Ivey and his NSL-now-ready skillset.  We follow him up with Paolo Banchero, Chet Holmgren and Jabari Smith, Jr.  Any one of these young men can be gone at the number one spot, but, rest assured, any team landing one of these four will be the better for it.  Throw in an Adrian Griffin, Jr and his elite shooting, and you have the makings of an overall top-heavy draft with many talented players through the mid-second round.

What will the Mavericks do with their pick which was originally owned by the amazing Chicago Bulls?  We will have to wait to find out!
