PLAYER OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 7

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Lebron James

PER 33.59

Eastern
1-3
Lebron just keeps on trucking. Working against him this week is the "hell week" that Washington had as they tried toying with some line ups and settings, and moved Lebron to the SF position. It didn't effect the King though as he poured in 44 points with 7 rebounds and 6 assists and 1.3 blocks, still. Maybe the losses hurt his chances though?

Kevin Durant

PER 40.49

Eastern

KD went on a tear last week, despite Steph being healthy. Defenses have been focusing on Steph more recently and Dylan has been toying with line ups to try and funnel the ball through one guy more, hence Steph getting a backseat and KD going for 42 points a night this past week. The results may follow as they ride on KDs back more?

Ivica Zubac

PER 26.72

Eastern
3-1
The Pistons are rising as GM Sheed is in a better place and such is more focused and succeeding because of it. He knows the game as well as anyone, so he will extract the best from his guys if he's switched on. Zubac was a monster last week averaging 18 points, 19 rebounds and 2.5 blocks with 1.3 steals too. His 20% Free Throw percentage is a killer if he was taking more than 1 a game, but this anchor is doing his work.

Paul George

PER 36.71

Paul George has been a bit quiet this year overall but he still is an important cog in the Bucks machine. 33 points, 5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.8 steals last week to attest and 52/45/81 splits are right up there, too. The man deserves this nomination and put up a massive +15.8 too.

Victor Wembanyama

PER 30.26

Eastern

The Pacers have lost every game this year if you ask Yeet...at least that's the way it feels when he never gives himself any chance to win and follows the early stages like the final buzzer has sounded. Hey, no expectations, no disappointments and all the excuses, right? Wemby continued on this past week with 22 points, 18 rebounds and 2 steals with 1.5 blocks to boot. The big man is going to carry this squad for years.

Anthony Davis

PER 34.78

Western
2-3
The Wolves are trying to keep up the blistering pace they started the year with but it's not quite going as well for now as they navigate the Jimmy Butler waters. Davis however has been a pillar as usual averaging 28 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.4 steals and 2 blocks last week which was right into those season numbers and typical Anthony Davis.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

PER 43.15

Western
2-2
The Spurs have a problem it seems and GM Nels is itching for week 9 when he can ship out a bunch of guys and get new assets, as he does every year. Will it change the form though? Everything is playing through Giannis and guys like Zach LaVine are playing like they are borderline rosterable because of it. last week Giannis went for well below his season numbers, but still 37 points and 8 rebounds with 4 assists and 2 blocks. The guy can carry them but they need to find a blend to get back into the winning ways.

Miles Bridges

PER 37.11

Western

Don't look now, but the Mavericks who were 1 win in 5 weeks have suddenly come fully alive and this week they did it on the back on Miles Bridges return to health and form with 38 points a game! The team doesn't have a vast amount of scoring options, which seems to be the good thing in this 2k, and the Mavs are winning games now and going to try for that Play-In and above. He didn't do heaps else with 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block, but he did what was needed.

Damian Lillard

PER 36.66

Dame time is back this year. He's looking like the Dame that carried the Spurs to a title a couple of years ago and 41 points a game last week is nearly 10 above his season average! he even got on the defensive end with 1.3 steals and shot the lights out at 51/40 (on 12.5 attempts)/93 splits. The Suns are loving their move for Dame right about now.

Jaylen Brown

PER 33.86

Western
3-1
The Grizz have explored all options it would seem to right this ship and last week shifting Bam to the bench meant Jaylen Brown got even more cooking on offence and went for 37 a night with his customary 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. It seems alot of teams are trying to funnel that ball to get more balanced results and the Grizz are definitely one of those. Brown is the ace in the hole in Memphis.
