A flurry of trades
Well, how the hell did that all happen?
After months of striking out at the trade table the first domino fell, then the rest fell like a house of cards. Mixing metaphors is as fun as calling him Norman.

It all started with an innocuous message from Klemm,

How are trades this easy. Fair big man for big man swap, he wanted the security of an extra year, and Serge had that slightly more defensive tilt that the team prizes. Two days later the big man slides into my DMs again.

If it wasn't already obvious to everyone, the NBA Grizzlies are a favourite of the NSL Grizzlies front office. Conley and JJJ have been with the team a while, and we had Kyle Anderson for a while, so adding another young Grizzlie to the squad seemed like a great idea. The team had engage Golden State a number of times earlier in the season to try and snatch Ziaire from them, but no dice. The team had to part with their first and a 2nd, as well as big Nick Richards and the ghost of Freedom past, but the promise of a rangey young wing to the squad could not ignored.
These trades but whet the whistle of the GM, finally capitulating to the demands for a first for Steve Adams to add yet another NBA Grizzly to the squad. These negotiations had been ongoing all season, and finally the steadfast GM Toby got what he deserved for the big man with the Gold Defensive Leader badge. The Grizz knew they needed to replace Freedom and Richards, and neither Joshua Primo or the Philly 1st rounder were going to break into the rotation this season, so the choice was made to double down on defense and finalise the Adams deal. Unfortunately to make the money work Serge didn't even get a chance to unpack his suitcase.
Once those trades were complete the PC was running hot with sims, but the team wasn't gelling. The need for another big man was apparent as the team was getting demolished on the boards. Then came...

Well its not often a defensive big man with elite offensive rebounding comes of the market. If this landed a few days earlier, we might not have seen the Adams deal. But here we are. Almost immediately Daz and I came to an in principle agreement for Mitch Robinson. Jaesean Tate and a 1st was tabled, but Tate didn't fit what Daz had planned and went shopping him for a Power Forward. A few days later and the deal was done. While the impending unrestricted free agent may test the water in the offseason, the team is hopeful to sign him to a max extension before June 30.
But while Daz was shopping, the team really thought it needed another win now player. Nemanja Bjelica was tabled a few weeks ago, but wasn't seriously considered because he didn't fit the Grizzlies type. As the days wore on and the potential that maybe Mitch might not join the Grizzlies, and the impending end to trade season, Belly was revisited. The reason why he ended up being the final deal that was decided on, was his contract fit snuggly into the Trade Exception that we had lying around, and the acknowledgement that the team could never play all the draft picks that they have acquired over the years. While two future 2nds for an expiring vet min guy is a steep price, he seems to be a player that makes everyone on the team play better.
So 3 firsts, 3 seconds, 3 big men, a rookie, and Tate were turned into a bigger rookie, two defensive centres, and a stretch big.
The cupboard is still full of picks, but I can't see many more movements being made before the deadline.
