Major Moves on the Horizon

San Francisco - The Golden State Warriors are on the verge of sending away two cornerstones of the current roster in an effort to shake things up and add assets for the future. There have been whispers and murmurs behind the scenes that a full rebuild was coming but it took some convincing for ownership to swallow that particular pill.

A deal for Khris Middleton has been in place for a few weeks now and the Warriors are rumored to be getting a big body back to limit how badly they get beaten up in the paint every night. While Middleton has performed well this season averaging 19/5/3 while shooting 43% from behind the arc, he isn't quite at the star level to lift this team out of the poor state that management has created. The wing is also the one area on the roster loaded with players who need to see minutes and moving an aging vet makes sense to clear the logjam on the depth chart. Bringing back a solid center will allow PJ Washington to shift back the power forward spot more often and spend his time not getting bullied by players half a foot taller than him.

Fan favorite, Herb Jones, is also expected to leave town in the coming weeks. Sources close to the front office have indicated this deal is more future focused and attempts to restock the badly depleted war chest in the general manager's office. Fans will need to get the the arena soon if they want to catch a last glimpse of Jones wearing the Golden Gate on his chest. This deal was faster developing than the Middleton deal but there were more suitors after Jones' services.

There are more deals potentially in the works and veterans like Patrick Beverly, PJ Washington, and Duncan Robinson would be wise to stay off Twitter for a little while. While nothing is concrete yet, it is believed more moves are on the way. Remember fans, it's always darkest before the dawn.
