Exclusive Interview with new GM
Exclusive Interview with new GM The Indiana Pacers recently hired a brand new GM about a month and a half ago. Since then this new GM has been extremely active and aggressive in reshaping this team to be able to compete for a title. With things having finally calmed down, we were able to take the time and sit down with the new GM and ask him a couple a questions about the team and his plans for the teams future. Interviewer: So, YeetMaster, since youve taken over as the GM of the Indiana Pacers, youve been nothing short of aggressive, why is that? YeetMaster: Well you see, when I first entered this role, i was brought in to help this team win. I wanted to make a team that could compete with anyone in the NSL and was given the greenlight to do whatever it took to do so. Interview: With that being said, you came right out the gate firing, nearly completely retooling the roster with only a few people left from last seasons team, explain why you saw it fit to make such a rehaul? YeetMaster: I saw a team with a good amount of talent but plagued by injuries. With the team the way it was, one injury could completely derail the season like last year when Kat got hurt. I wanted to make sure that we had redundancies incase anything where to happen, that we could still compete if someone when down or wasnt performing well. Interviewer: You also got out into a situation some people could only dream of. Because of those injuries and poor record, and some lottery luck, you came away with the first overall pick in the NSL draft and took prodigal phenom Victor Wembayana, what was the process behind that? YeetMaster: When we found out we landed the first overall pick, the front office was ecstatic. The chance to draft potentially the greatest sports prospect of all time is a once in a lifetime opportunity. We plan to have Wemby come in and be a focal point with our team from day one. Plus being able to pair him with Jabari Smith Jr and BI gives us arguably one of the best front courts in the league for years to come. Interviewer: Speaking of Brandon Ingram, once you found out you landed first overall, you went on a trading spree, explain why you did that, was it to help build around wemby, or was their more to it? YeetMaster: We wanted to compete now and in the future, thats why we made the moves that we made. Brandon Ingram was someone we've had an eye on for awhile, and with us getting wemby, the opportunity arose to get him. Same with jrue holiday, a true 2 way PG, his playmaking and especially his defense, paired with wemby and jabari, will be a nightmare for opposing teams to deal with. As with the other moves we made, we wish all the best to lonzo and Dalen, but the chance to fortify out bench was too great, Bagley is a starter level big and can space the floor also, while shamet is a shooting expert who will help bring defenses out of the paint. Interviewer: With all that said, can you give fans some of the expectations from the team this coming season, and maybe even seasons beyond? YeetMaster: This team is built for the present and the future, we plan on competing 24/7/365 with the hopes of bring not just one, but multiple NSL championships to indiana. This team with fight tooth and nail to prove they belong in the league.
