Rumor Has It.....

So, the talk around town is of one major star leaving Dallas. Rumors can sometimes be in line with the entire "where there's smoke, there's fire" gibberish.  Truth be told, in the heart of Dallas, there will be some movement.  But, who?  How many trades?  Will there be anyone left?  One thing is certain.  You're definitely going to need your popcorn.

The talk around the cooler is how Kristaps Porzingis has already found a new home.  Yes, this is true.  And, as well as he has been playing in the NBA lately, the Mavericks decided that their first ever draft pick needed a new address.  His play, while phenomenal, was not in par with what they envisioned alongside superstar Kevin Durant.  The "mesh" was not quite there.  So, it was time to move on from the Unicorn.  The deal was brought to life months ago with Oklahoma City, Porzingis' new NSL address in the coming weeks.  What was most likely a hard move for LJ Maverick had to be finalized in order to preserve a future for the squad.

Now, other rumors came out for aforementioned superstar Durant.  While some talks have come in strong recently due to an unsolicited and asinine rumor poll, general manager Maverick has stated it would take a lot to part with Durant.  When asked, he commented something along the lines of imagining the best rated player in the game.  "If, you had him, who would YOU want back?  Then throw in more than that offer and maybe we'd talk."  This seems to be a non-negotiable starting point for the general manager.  And, deservedly so.  So, the impact of such a trade is actually at the most minimum on the hierarchy of LJ Maverick's concerns at the present moment.  Durant seems more of a mainstay than not at this point in time unless a team comes with a deal for him that would most likely get the other general manager run out of his town. Period.
