Kobe Sanders to the Captial!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington Wizards Select Kobe Sanders in NSL Draft! A Dynamic Talent Ready to Help the Franchise

The Washington Wizards are thrilled to announce the selection of Kobe Sanders in the 2025 NBA Draft. A versatile and high-upside guard whose size, skill, and two-way potential promise to make an immediate impact in the nation’s capital.

Standing 6’6” with a smooth shooting stroke and exceptional court awareness, Sanders brings a rare blend of offensive creativity and defensive length to a Wizards team focused on continuing a fast, exciting brand of basketball that won them the title last season. Known for his poise under pressure and polished perimeter game, Sanders projects as a crucial future piece in Washington’s young core.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Kobe Sanders to the Washington Wizards family,” said Wizards General Manager Joshua. “Kobe has the kind of all-around game that fits perfectly with how we like to play basketball. He’s a playmaker who can score, defend, and elevate those around him. His maturity, work ethic, and feel for the game stood out throughout the pre-draft process.”

At San Diego State, Sanders showcased his ability to do a little bit of everything from scoring efficiently from all three levels, facilitating out of the pick-and-roll and using his wingspan to disrupt opponents on defence. He averaged double figures in scoring while shooting over 40 percent from beyond the arc, a testament to his sweet shooting stroke and confidence as a shooter. Coaches and scouts alike praised his adaptability and high basketball IQ, traits that should translate seamlessly to the NBA floor.

The Wizards GM anlso expressed enthusiasm about integrating Sanders into the team’s up-tempo system. “Kobe is a competitor,” Joshua said. “He has the length and quickness to guard multiple positions and he’s comfortable making reads off the dribble. He’s going to fit in right away with the way we want to move the ball and defend.”

The Wizards view Sanders not only as a talented young player, but as someone that can step in and make an impact right away. The professionalism and relentless approach to improvement align with the organisation’s renewed commitment to development and teamwork. His combination of shooting, secondary playmaking and defensive versatility makes him an ideal complement to the Wizards’ emerging core of young talent.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent Washington,” said Sanders. “I’m ready to work, learn and help this team compete every night. I can’t wait to get started and play in front of these amazing fans.”

With Sanders in the fold, the Wizards continue to build on the winning culture that’s centered around growth, athleticism, and unselfish basketball. The franchise believes Kobe Sanders has all the tools and the mindset to become a key piece of the Wizards’ current great era.
