Clippers Big Board
The draft
lottery run and officially won I have to say I’m not disappointed with the
result overall having fallen from #7 to #9 in any draft would usually be met
with disappointment. 2024 however is a little different from what seems to be .
What that means for the LA Clippers is the ability to draft based on BPA for us
rather than pressure of taking the prototypical consensus guy.
Maybe somewhat
of a reach (ok itd be the reach of the century) at 9 but how many 7’4 rim
defending centers are there in the league let alone the draft. All we would ask
of Zach is to stand in the middle and rebound / block everything in his path. In
draft lacking star quality taking the glitchiest big man available sounds like
the perfect path to take. Even if I may vomit in my whilst typing his name in
at selection time
For
whatever reason LAC GM always falls for the athletic physical wing that can
play downhill go get to the rack effortlessly and elevate for a thunderous dunk
and. Unfortunately, they usually just don’t pan out (Josh Jackson, Stan
Johnson, Justice Winslow……) then every now and again there is one that does
work. Is Ron the exception to the rule
Jalen’s
little bro would be an interesting fit. Cody is taller than Jalen, longer than
Jalen he just isn’t anywhere near as polished as an NBA pro that his big
brother is. He probably has the highest floor in the draft with his all-around
skills questions around his polish and ability to score and create at an NBA
level. Cody is the biggest boom or bust guy in the draft. Sounds like a clipper
to me

Kel’el Ware
Probably
the most intriguing big man prospect in the draft and like that of Derek Lively
out of the 2023 NBA draft. Uber athletic and long center that has shown flashes
of being a consistent threat from beyond the arc. The down side to Kel’el is
his sometimes disinterest in actually playing the game. He has moments of
brilliance and moments where he fades out of games. At 7’1 and a somewhat reliable
3 point stroke I don’t see Ware on draft boards long. Will he be their at 9 ?
Vyes is
more of a throw back style big man, plays with high energy and sometimes foul
prone style. Yves will give you 20mins of rebounding and blocking hustle
perfect for the 2k engine and exactly the type of player that could co-exist
with Paolo in LA. He is just raw, like really really raw. Hustle will get you
on the court. Shaqtin a fool will get you of it
Stephon in
my opinion could easily be the best player drafted in 2024, if he had a
reliable shot would be the number 1 draft pick off the board. Unfortunately, Stephon
can’t really shoot (yet) as much as LAC would love to take that plunge and
would be extremely tempted should he be their. I just don’t see it happening
(or do i)
So many
options for LAC to look at come draft time, exciting times for sure. Here’s hoping
everyone can get their man, and build for an epic 2024-25 season.
