Welcome to NSL End-of-Season Player Rankings. Top 10 Point Guards in the NSL Part I, 10-6
This list showcases the elite point guards in the NSL/NBA 2K. These rankings are based on NBA 2K player overall ratings and analysis.
No 10 - Trea Young - 89 - Ice Trae. is one of the most talented young point guards in the League, known for his sharp shooting and impressive court vision. Standing at only 61" Trae Young is considered small by most standards. But as with any player, his physical attributes play a key role in his success on the court as it allows him to change directions quickly and maintain a low profile while dribbling. This makes him difficult to defend and allows him to create space for his shot and to make accurate passes. However, Youngs lack of height can make it difficult for him to finish at the rim against taller defenders. But he is a dead eye shooter than can light up the score board once he gets going.
He is a known liability on defense and hasnt really shown much effort in improving in that area. Surrounded by the right teammates that defensive liability can be mitigated to some degree. Nevertheless , as one of the most exciting young players in the NBA, Trae Young has quickly made a name for himself with his electrifying play and flashy style. A great number 2 option for any team. Young is a solid player to have on your roster.
No 9 - Jamal Murray - 88 - Nicknamed "Blue Arrow", has undoubtedly propelled himself into for the conversation as one of the best point guards in the League. With a lot of hard work and effort he has rebounded from his past injury concerns and could easily make a case for being the best player on any contending team. He has shown great leadership skills and can take the lead or play 2nd fiddle. One of Jamals strong areas is his versatility as a scorer.
e has the ability to operate anywhere on the floor and score as a finisher, shooter or as a deep threat He has decent speed, agility, and ball-handling skills allowing him to navigate through defenses and with his playmaking he can create opportunities for himself and his teammates. While not a true Super Star talent. Murray is an extremely versatile lead guard that can also hold his own a bit on defense. That potential two-way ability is part of what makes him an extremely valuable player for his team.
No 8 - De'Aaron Fox - 88 - Fox who is considered by many to be the fastest player in the league. He has also worked on making himself a better defender. Couple that with the use of his superb basketball IQ and off-the-chart athletic abilities. De'Aaron has quickly made himself one of the most amazing players in the league to watch. Like many guards before him blessed with such athletic ability he has neglected to sharping his 3 point shooting stroke. But when you can get anywhere you want on the floor. Long range shooting tends to get skipped on shooting drill day. What doesnt get skipped though is the hard work he puts into playmaking. Capable of breaking down defenders with crafty dribble moves. Fox can draw enough attention from the defense to create space for open teammates and get the ball to them in their sweet spot. Helping to build overall team confidence and trust amongst his teams. A willing and capable scorer. DeAaron is not afraid to call his own number as well. In a crowded field of dynamic guards. Fox is one of the best at an early age and has likely another 10 years to continue to raise his bar.
No 7 - Kyrie Irving - 90 - Kyrie Irving is considered one of the best point guards in the NBA due to his exceptional dribbling skills, quickness, and ability to score. His low dribble, which he works tirelessly to maintain, allows him to maneuver past defenders and get to the basket with ease. He has an imagination that allows him to visualize different scenarios in a game and execute them successfully, making him unpredictable and difficult to defend against. A testament to his brilliant basketball IQ.
Irving, though not known for his passing, he can set the table with the best of them. His offensive gravity opens up the offense for his teammates and gets them efficient scoring opportunities. Not much of a defensive player he does have a certain level of athleticism that should allow him to at least stay ahead of opposing offensive players. Which he can do when properly engaged. But does have a habit of letting that part of his game slip by.
No 6 Jrue Holiday 87 -Jrue Holiday is widely regarded as one of the best on ball defenders in the League. He has been praised by players, coaches, and analysts alike for his versatility, effort, and ability to guard multiple positions. Despite this, he has only been named to three NBA All-Defensive teams in his first 12 NBA seasons. Holiday is also an excellent off-ball defender. He has the ability to read the offense and anticipate where the opposing player is going before they even make their move and also has an uncanny ability to read the passing lanes. This allows him to be in the right position at the right time to get his hands on the ball or deflect a pass. Holidays vocal leadership on the defensive end is more or less un-matched, often seen talking to his teammates and directing them on the court. He is also an underrated offensive player capable of getting his own buckets by either slashing into the paint or stepping back for a mid-range or long range jumper. His two-way abilities make him one of the best at his position.
