NSL Insider - Premium: Points Per Games Leadersby gc6, updated on Wednesday, February 03 2021, 11:52 pm EST So this season has finally arrived i cant believe we are only 2 weeks into it, feels like a lot longer! so to keep the excitement going, now seems like the perfect time to take a look at the race for the scoring title in the NSL. This list will just be going off points per game average at this stage, so some players are gonna be a little jacked up off a small sample size, but who cares. So lets go through the top 7 leader board (you're welcome josh) and give them all a little bit of a write up on each. So lets see who is in the running for the inaugural Wilt Chamberlain trophy. Current Leader: Kevin Durant Dal PF 4 Games 30 minutes per game 41 points per game Not really a surprise at the top of the leader board if you've been paying attention to the 2k side of things, Durant absolutely rocks at this. Has only played 4 games though which isnt ideal and he looks like he is going to miss another week this week. Will be near the top all season though and the only thing that might stop him is amount of games played. Stephen Curry Den PG 7 Games 36 minutes per game 40.9 points per game I been Steph Curry with the shot been cookin' with the sauce, Chef Curry with the pot, boy. Good to see one half of the splash brothers tearing it up at his new home in Denver Colarado. Hes also the main reason why the nuggets look like a team to beat at the moment, as they only have 1 loss from 7 tries. Another player who will be around the top of the standings all season long as his running mate Klay Thompson is out for the year. Giannis Antetokounmpo LAC PF 8 games 38.5 minutes per game 38.1 points per game We all knew the greek freak would be near the top of the scoring list after the season he had last year, and Giannis has had some monster stat lines this season already. His highest score for last season was a 65 piece against his ultimate rivals in the Lakers, but i reckon he could top that this season and maybe even go for 70 one game. Really tough to see anyone catching him towards the end of the year, but anything can happen. DAngelo Russell Bkn SG 7 game 36.0 minutes per game 36.6 points per game Now this one i didnt see coming, Breece must have hacked this system cause 3 angelo has been playing like the mvp at the moment. The nets look really good too and have had some great wins to their name. Can he keep it up though? seems like he could be one of those players that could drop a bit back to earth after a couple of ratings changes, but its still an exciting place to be in Brooklyn! Trae Young Orl PG 9 games 37.7 minutes per game 36.3 points per game My boy. Ice trae had a hot start (lel) and the Magic came out the blocks with 4 wins in a row. Putting up some big numbers in the NSL and looked like the magic were gonna ride into the playoffs on the back of his shoulders. Then that loser Ronnie 2k hammered him in a ratings update and he looks more like a mere mortal now. Could fluctuate up and down the standings this season but the usage rate will always be there for him to put up numbers. Kyrie Irving Det PG 4 games 35.0 minutes per game 35.5 points per game Lets get this out the way first, kyrie is a really weird dude but he can really play basketball. Sheeds got him cooking early, even if its only been 4 games so far. Another guy we hope can stay on the court cause he is really fun to watch and he makes the pistons a title contender when he is on the court. Damian Lillard Was PG 8 games 34.5 minutes per game 35.4 points per game Great off season dealing by josh has landed Damian Lillard a new home next to Devin Booker (is he rated 90 yet?) Dame Dolla is one of the best point guards in the NBA, so it is no shock to anyone that lillard is also filling it up in the NSL. GM Joshua has waived his magic wand on the rest of the team as well, because Dame has lead the wizards to 6-2 with his scoring punch (certainly not with his defense) So thats it for the scoring title so far, might have gone a bit early but its always fun to look at the outrageous scoring numbers early in the season. Look forward to seeing how it all plays out in the coming days, weeks and even months. |
