Dropping Nuggets
Steph's Hot! Myles is Cold!
The Denver Nuggets entered the off-season on a high, uniting the splash brothers and having visions of Kevin Harlen bang! BANG! (ing) their way through the season. That high lasted less then a week due to Klay’s devastating ACL tear.
With the trajectory of the Nuggets season bumped off course, there were plenty of external enquires from both tank commanders looking to acquire Klay, as well as contender hopefuls touching base about Steph.
While the thought was there early on for a possible quick refresh, what GM Digga didn’t anticipate was just how fun it is to watch Steph go nuclear and drop bombs all game, every game. Typically, losing a star player before the season starts means you’re trading or you’re counting lottery balls from week to week. “Steph put us in a position where we were interested in neither,” said the GM.
With a supporting cast full of role players, Curry dragged a team which should have been in the sandpit, hanging out with the rest of the nosepickers, and took them to a .600 record and 6th in the strong Western Conference. Averaging just under 50ppg, it would be difficult to rob him of an MVP award. It wasn’t just points either, he also led the league in assists per game. In a large part due to all the desperation doubles he would attract.
While expectations are quite low for the Nuggets to have any impact in the postseason, you can be sure Steph will still put on an impressive show!
In Playoff news, Myles Turner, is now over 8 weeks into a 6-8 week recovery period. The big man himself said he was week-to-week over a month ago and that he was hopeful to be ready to help the team out when they reached the post-season.
League officials have since stepped and said “STFU Myles, nobody asked you.” He has subsequently been banned from attending any playoff games.
The Nuggets GM seemed unfazed by it all “Oh well, it is what it is. Sometimes you’re delt a crap hand. Maybe Myles is full of it and really is still sitting in bed crying about his sore toe…..how are we to know?”
