Heat make playoffs
In the inaugural season of the NSL, we are super proud to see the Heat make the playoffs. The job is not done, but we can take a moment to reflect before the real stuff begins.
CJ
McCollum
The club
hasn’t been vocal about welcoming CJ McCollum to the team, that is not a sign
of how happy we are, that he has joined us, and the difference maker he is. With
Ben Simmons going down, it was always going to be a mighty job to stay in the playoff hunt and be a contender.
McCollum has
played with the Heat for 7 weeks, 5 weeks of them without All-Star Ben Simmons. CJ
has played his heart out, the only regret was a down week starting at Point
Guard.

The
partnership between CJ and Ben Simmons
The 2 seem
like a match made in heaven, inside and outside. Both with awesome court
vision, not afraid to take the big shot. Wi,th Ben going down, we haven’t been
able to see how this relationship will play out. Some would say Ben being back
in the NSL, is very lucky for the Heat, the team is very blessed and excited to
see them together in the Playoffs.
How Far
Can They Go?
Testing has
brought very mixed results, the team is good, so much potential and upside. Having
a player (who internally we believe is already in the top 10 defenders in the
league), go down with injury, it was always going to be a setback.
The team is
built more for the future, so much potential, Windler, Isaac, Bamba, 9 players
25 or younger. Can we still go all the way? It’s the Veteran Leadership that
makes this team a threat, Millsap, Jordan, will dominate when they need to but
all they need to do is play their role.
The one thing
that has stood out, Simmons and CJ aren’t equal partners, it’s Simmons team and
CJ seems to bow to him a bit in the game. Hopefully when the big shot is needed
and CJ has the ball, he is not afraid to pull the trigger.
