Washington Wizards

A Holiday Worth Remembering

Dear Washington,

It's hard to know where to begin, because some goodbyes never feel complete. But if there's one thing I've learned during my time here, it's that honesty matters on the court and off it. So I'll start with this: thank you.

From the moment I arrived at the Washington Wizards, I felt something different. This wasn't just another stop in my career. This was a city that embraced me, a locker room that believed in me, and an organization, lled by GM Joshua. That trusted me to be more than just a player. He saw me as a leader, and I'll always carry that with me.

To the fans: you made this place home. Whether it was the noise inside the arena on a cold winter night or the conversations around the community, I felt your energy every time I stepped on the floor. You didn't just cheer for me, you believed in me. That kind of support stays with a player long after the final buzzer.

We built something special together. There's no other way to say it. Winning a championship here, bringing a title to Washington, will forever be one of the greatest honors of my life. I can still hear the roar, still see the sea of red, white, and blue, still feel the weight of that moment when it all came together. That wasn't just a win for a team. That was for the city.

Individually, I gave you everything I had. But the truth is, you gave me more. You gave me purpose beyond basketball. Through community events, youth programs, and just walking the streets, I felt connected to something bigger than the game. That's rare in this league, and it's something I'll never take for granted.

To my teammates, past and present, you made every battle worth it. The practices, the road trips, the tough losses, and the unforgettable wins… those moments shaped me. Brotherhood isn't something you fake in this league and we had something real.

And to Joshua, thank you for believing in me not just as a player, but as a person. Your trust meant everything. Being a GM favorite isn't something I ever chased, but knowing I had your respect pushed me to be better every single day.

Now, as I move on, I don't see this as an ending. I see it as carrying a piece of Washington with me wherever I go. Because this city, this team, and these fans helped define a chapter of my life I'll always be proud of.

I'll always be grateful to wear this jersey. I'll always remember what we accomplished together. And I'll always be a part of this family.

                                                                                 With respect and love,Jrue Holiday
