Retirement

As of today I am stepping down as GM of the Oklahoma City Thunder. This has been a difficult decision to come to, one which Ive given thought to over the last year or so.

This doesnt have anything to do with the state of the team, the state of the league or any hard feelings toward a single person in the NSL. I feel like Im leaving the team in a good place in the short term and a great place in the long term. Possibly more importantly, I feel like Im also leaving the league in a strong place to cover my absence.

I have made a lot of friends and a lot of good memories over the time in the NSL and even more counting the NLL days. This league has been a key hobby for me over the past 20 years.

When it comes down to it - life is busy - and making hard choices about how we want to spend our hours is important. Reflecting upon the first five weeks of the season - nearly all of the time Ive spent on anything NSL-related has been trying to help with the work aspect of the league (with me generally creating a delay in even that due to other conflicts). This was further underscored after my teams hot start and that I wasnt really even all that excited about that.

The time has come for me to allow someone else to give this OKC team more care than I was able to. I do love the roster Ive built, and hope that somebody else can have them take the step from rebuilding team to contender.

Its not impossible that I return at some point in the future - but at this juncture I have to say goodbye for now.

To further reassure any fears beyond myself/this team - Im still around and will try to help out with any issues or questions/issues that come up. I still do hope you all love this league and continue to enjoy it for another 20 years, and Ill do what Im able to in order to keep this from causing any larger issues.
