Delayed playoff exit

An unfortunate end to our playoff dream we fell short in the 2nd round to the powerhouse Detroit Pistons who have one of the most polarizing rosters full of switchable 2 way players that can play 1 through 5 and have 3 elite 2k rim protectors. We got close in 4 of 5 games and mainly went down to what we identified as a lack of a closer. We believed we had the talent and the chemistry right to beat them just not having a go to shot maker was the decider in the series when facing Kyrie Irving in Detroit who can make just about every shot he takes in the clutch.

Getting through the 1st round was bitter sweet as through us winning a tough 7 game series we also sent the Washington Wizards managed by my cousin packing in a year most GMs expected them to be a challenger for the Eastern Conference finals.
MVP of the series and our season MVP was one most would expect me to pick in Jarrett Allen. JA had multiple 20/20 games in the Wizards series including a 21 point, 22 rebound (10 offensive) and 4 block game in game 7.

We look ahead to the off-season where we already have a deal agreed in principle in waiting for an outgoing Andrew Wiggins to bring in a lead guard who can be that shot maker we need and has the clutch shooting badges to help us close out more games. While we loved having Wiggins here and had no issue with heading into next season with him still with the team a decision was made and he was our best asset to get a lead guard without stripping down further assets.

There have been talks surrounding pick 18 and a player yet to be identified to move up in the draft.
Cleveland will go into free agency with 16 million spare in cap space with the opportunity to open up to 30 million, that we will look to fill either through a trade with those needing to shed cap to avoid the luxury tax or on a free agency target.

RFA Kevin Knox will be renounced as his cap hold is too expensive to hold if we want to be a player in free agency.
RFA Mac McClung will be sent a qualifying offer and will return.
Sam Hauser will have his team option picked up and will return.
Malik Monk remains a mystery and we will await to see his value on the open market, we hold full bird rights and can go over cap if need be to retain Malik.
Isaiah Thomas will not be returning to Cleveland.
